Opening comments: Personal Reflections

•11 years ago, I was recovering from surgery at this time, and was not up for going to the Seder we had planned to attend in Seattle. I stayed home, and didn’t have a Seder that year. •We need to be generous with ourselves that what we planned is not going to happen. That is OK.•And, we need to think that what will happen this year is not bad, just different.

Opening comments: Preparing a Seder. The format has changed, but the ritual—and the

questions we ask planning it—are the same.

Knowing that we can not be with each other in person, and can only connect virtually…

•What CAN’T we do because we are not together in person?

•What is the SAME (i.e., what can we do either virtually or in person)?
