Psalm 47.10-11 COMMUNION ANTIPHON Taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed the one who seeks refuge in him Psalm 33.9 1st Reading: Zechariah 9.9- 10: The prophet’s ministry took place during the 500s BC after the return of the people from the Babylonian exile. This passage looks for- ward to the Messiah’s arrival and his words are used in the Gospels to describe Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. Response to the Psalm: I will bless your name for ever, O God my King 2nd Reading: Romans 8.9- 13: We belong to Christ since his Holy Spirit lives in us and empowers us to live spiritual lives. Alleluia! Alleluia! Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for revealing the mysteries of the kingdom to mere children. Alleluia! Matthew 11.25-30: Our knowledge and experience of God comes through Christ’s revelation. He has entrusted us with knowledge of the Father. This draws us into the life of the Trinity itself so that we are part of the relationship between the Father and Christ. Sea Sunday is when the Church remembers in prayer all those who live and work at sea. With- out them we would not have most of the items we buy in the shops. Next week’s second collection is for the Apostleship of the Sea (AoS), the Church’s official maritime welfare agency. It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually. This collection is vital to enable it to continue its work, so please give generously and remember seafarers in your prayers. For more information, visit www.apostleshipofthesea. org.uk Please pray for the eternal rest of Maurizio Puricelli whose Requiem Mass took place on Thursday. May the Lord receive him into his arms of mercy and send his Holy Spirit of comfort and consolation on his wife Maureen and her family at this time of their loss.

Thank you for last week’s collection which came to £868 in the plate and £580 in Standing Orders; for the collection for Peter’s Pence which came to £382; and for the collection on the Feast of Peter and Paul which was £242.

Many thanks for your generous response to Mary’s Meals. 185 bags of textiles were donated and £436.64 was raised through raffle tickets and donations.

The Children’s

Liturgy has now

summer and will

resume after the

holidays. We are

looking for more

people to help in any way in this

Ordination to the

Priesthood for our

diocese of Bernard

Mournian and John

Paul McShane. May

the Lord pour out his

grace and blessings

upon them. We also

pray for Bruce

McPhail, Sean Wylie and Paul Denny who

will be ordained for the diocese later this

year. May this great blessing from God of

five new priests fill our hearts with gratitude

and confidence for the future.
