A PRAYER for the NEW YEAR
Lord, whether I leave behinda year of joy or
of trials and difficulties,I pause to GIVE THANKS
Thank you for being with meevery day of every year.
Thank you for making all things NEWAnd for giving me
the grace of fresh startsAnd NEW BEGINNINGS.
Remind me of your presence in the days to come,
Even when I feel pushed and rushedBy busyness.
BE GLORIFIED IN MY LIFE THIS YEAR.Amen.

wrote most about the coming birth of Jesus?And lots more questions . . .
Finally the adults were invited to play –including Fr. Connolly and Sr. Marie!

A: When he/she refuses to cooperate after being reminded and warned ?
When the behavior of the student makes it difficultor impossible for the teacher to teach and the students
to learn.When misbehavior is seriously wrong and/or
defiantly disrespectful.

A: When needed and when the catechist and students are able to return the desks back to the exact location
in which they were found originally. When enough time is allowed at the end of class
to make this possible.
HOW?

A: When the room is left in better condition than the way we found it!
When the students remain in their seat throughout the class. When they are diligently supervised so that
they do not go into student desks - or worse – intoa teacher’s desk.

Let’s be safe – cell phones, bathroom use, drillsHave a cell phone with you each week for safety.
Students should not use phones unless directed todo so for learning purposes.
Collection in basket and brought to office by a responsible student. Picked up just before the closing bell rings.
Grades 1 – 5 should be brought to the bathroom in a supervised group.
Grades 6 – 8 should use the bathroom before the bell rings for the start of class.

It is posted on the calendar: Jan 29 – Feb. 2Review the procedure for such an alert.
TAKE TIME BEFORE THE START OF SCHOOL TO REVIEW ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES. PRAY OFTEN FOR THE
SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING OF OURSTUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Unauthorized Persons outside the Building (“OUTSIDE SCHOOL ALERT”)
CLASSROOM DOORS SHOULD ALWAYSREMAIN LOCKED.
Immediate UNBROKEN SILENCE Lights should be turned off – Blinds should be completely
lowered and windows closed. Students should be moved to WINDOW side of classroom and
be seated on floor. If this is not possible due to classroom setup, move students into the hall and seat them against the classroom side of the hall.
Catechist should await further instructions.ALWAYS COME TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR CELL PHONE!

LOVE THEIR NEIGHBOR ATHOME, SCHOOL AND
WHEREVER THEY ARE.CHECK THE CALENDAR FOR
MEASUREMENTS.

- CONSIDER THE MATTER THAT SHOULD BE KNOWN AND UNDERSTOOD BY CONFIRMANDI. REVIEW AND ASSESS.
- NOTICE WHEN STUDENTS WILL BE MEASURED FOR CONFIRMATIONROBES. INFORM PARENTS AND URGE STUDENTS NOT TO MISS CLASS.
- CHECK DATES AND TIMES FOR THE RETREATS, PRACTICES AND CELEBRATIONS OF CONFIRMATION.
-YOUR PRESENCE IS NEEDED AT THESE EVENTS.

Printed copies of everyone’s record is available for you to take home. Please consider Making progress toward completion. It will make you a more competent and confident catechist. It will help your
students learn more and hopefully love more.
Lord, we do not rely on our own ability or strength; Instead we implore your grace. Help
us to serve Your people as You desire them to be served. Please give us a share of Your selfless
heart, Your deep wisdom, Your spirit of sacrifice, Your love of truth, goodness and beauty. When in our weakness we fall short, help us with your grace to improve our efforts. Thank You for the many graces that are ours and for the privilege of being your voice for the hearts of those we have been called to serve. Make us worthy.
