Purpose of this document

To begin a discussion on the development of a Pentecostal Mission Movement in Iceland.

To consider the needs of the Pentecostal Church in Iceland – particularly the needs of the smaller country Churches.

To think about how as a mission movement we can support the diverse needs of each Pentecostal Church.

To raise awareness of the role of mission in the local Churches.

The development of a practical, responsive and sustainable support network across Iceland.

No one Church feels isolated.

The gifts and talents of the Church is shared across the movement.

The development of multiple resource teams.

Develop a sense of belonging to the movement in a real, practical way.

We can develop a personalised training and support package for people willing to take up the challenge of mission.

We can help mission candidates to raise financial support for them and their families.

Provide on-going support.

A central resource point for ordering practical resources such as tracts, books, etc. Make use of bulk buying discounts.

Liaise with other mission organisations to share ideas, good practice, etc.

The development of a strong network using available technology, i.e. Facebook, Skype conferencing, Team Viewer, etc.

Local Church levelLocal Churches would be blessed,

resourced and equipped by visiting teams.

Teams would visit regularly throughout the year.

Resource teams would work with the local Church to develop a plan to bless their local community, e.g. with social action work or straight-forward evangelism.

Local Church levelThe Movement will develop

organically in response to the needs of the local Church.

The movement will develop an overview of need across Iceland and plan strategically to meet that need.

Local Churches will be networked together and able to share in and help with each other’s vision.
