A QUARTERLY MEMBER NEWSLETTER | SUMMER 2016 If you have not already heard, SRGC will be hosting the 2016 South Riding Community fireworks show! The festivities are on Friday, July 1 st from 5pm-10pm. There is a parade leaving Town Hall at 5pm and ends at the clubhouse. There will be live music from 6pm-9pm and food and beverage available for purchase from vendors on site. The clubhouse will be open to dues paying members and their guests only. Please RSVP to Jon Fulton at [email protected] so that we can plan appro- priately. There is limited space in the clubhouse, so reserva- tions are required in advance. Please direct any questions to Jon Fulton. A TIP FROM OUR GOLF PRO: One of the more common mistakes golfers make is that they aren’t aligned properly to their intended target. They walk up to the ball and set up their feet, look at the target, waggle the club a few times and the very last thing they do is set the club behind the ball. That’s where it all goes wrong! When addressing the golf ball it is critically im- portant to line up your club face behind the ball prior to setting your feet. Below is a great pre shot routine to go through prior to making your golf swing to ensure you are accurately lined up to hit your next shot to your intended target. 1) Stand directly behind your ball and draw an imaginary line from your target down to the ball 2) Pick out a spot on the ground that’s roughly 1-3 feet in front of your ball that falls directly in line with that imaginary line you just made 3) With one hand on the club, walk up and place your club face directly behind the ball and make sure it is squarely facing the spot you just picked out on the ground 4) Take your grip 5) Set your feet shoulder width apparent 6) Double check your alignment one last time 7) Swing away Take the time to line up every shot just like this and you’ll start seeing improvements in your golf game immediately! A TIP FROM OUR GOLF PRO:

One of the more common mistakes golfers make is that they aren’t aligned properly to their intended target. They walk up to the ball and set up their feet, look at the target, waggle the club a few times and the very last thing they do is set the club behind the ball. That’s where it all goes wrong! When addressing the golf ball it is critically im-portant to line up your club face behind the ball prior to setting your feet. Below is a great pre shot routine to go through prior to making your golf swing to ensure you are accurately lined up to hit your next shot to

your intended target.

1) Stand directly behind your ball and draw an imaginary line from your target down to

the ball

2) Pick out a spot on the ground that’s roughly 1-3 feet in front of your ball that falls directly in line with that imaginary line you

just made

3) With one hand on the club, walk up and place your club face directly behind the ball and make sure it is squarely facing the spot

you just picked out on the ground

4) Take your grip

5) Set your feet shoulder width apparent

6) Double check your alignment one last

time

7) Swing away

Take the time to line up every shot just like this and you’ll start seeing improvements in

your golf game immediately!
