DJMIT SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE INAUGURATION Held on
29th March 2016 at
Workshop-1, Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Jivraj Mehta Institute of Technology, Mogar, Anand
INAUGURAL SESSION:
The inaugural function began with welcome to the Dignitaries on the dais.

Dr. Brahmbhatt, DG-IYIPASS, Shri. R. R. Varsani, Chiarman, Mission Mangalam,

The function began with prayer.
Anchor of the function Ms.PrernaVinchi, invited Prof. Rakesh Hingu, Principal,
DJMIT for welcome speech.

Prof. Rakesh Hingu, Principal, DJMIT gave a warm welcometo all the dignitaries
on the dais. He also gave warm welcome to dignitaries off the dais and august
audience including 3 members ShriSaurinSheth, Project Manager, L&T Power,
Ms.Namita Gopal, HR – CSR Activities and Shri. Bhaskar Ganguly, Head Special
Engineering Services, L&T S&L, present during the function and also Principals
of various ITI and their representatives.
LIGHTING OF THE LAMP:
All the dignitaries were invited for lighting of lamp before beginning the
Inaugural Function.

Then the Anchor invited Prof. AvdhootJejurkar of Mech. Engg. Dept., DJMIT to
brief about DJMIT and DSDC.
BRIEF ABOUT DJMIT AND DSDC:
Prof. AvdhootJejurkar of Mech. Engg. Dept., DJMIT gave brief details about
DJMIT and introduced the different courses at UG and PG level, various
facilities in the campus and technical and non-technical event updates as well
various Centre of Excellences in the Campus to all present in the function.

Then he briefed about DSDC. DSDC is DJMIT Skill Development Centre. He
highlighted about MOU between L&T and DJMIT as well as technical support,
training and equipment provided by L&T. He briefed that the Welding Trade
Training imparted to students which will be of Two Months during which for
the first batch the training will be given by trained persons from L&T and
subsequent batches will be trained by staff of DJMIT who already had
undergone training at L&T Welding centre He also mentioned that the course
will run in batches throughout the year with each batch receiving training for
two months.
He then announced that CENT is in process of registering on Mission
Mangalam portal and that necessary formalities were completed for skill
development programme by Government of India and Government of Gujarat.
SPEECHES BY DIGNITARIES:
Shri. SoumenSengupta, Head of Civil Design at L&T S&L:
Shri. Soumen Sengupta emphasised the importance of Welding trade and told
that this is today’s need of industry and that this programme would be filling
the gap. He told that this Centre of Excellence would be of great demand and
benefits in future. He also briefed the CSR activities at L&T.

MS. NAMITA GOPAL – HR – CSR ACTIVITIES:
Ms.Namita Gopal, HR – CSR Activities of L&T encouraged the students of first
batch who would be receive training, present in the audience. She focused on
local youth with 12th pass or ITI education having bright future by taking
opportunity of receiving training here. She thanked Mission Mangalam support
and appreciated for good facilities at DJMIT.
SHRI. D A SATYA, MD, MISSION MANGALAM:
Shri. D A Satya, MD, Mission Mangalamdiscussed advantages of Welding
Training to the students and told that they would be ready for industrial job
after training. He emphasised on skill upgradation and enhancement schemes
of State and Central Government. He told that about two lacs skill training is
given under various schemes and quoted example of DDU at DJMIT. He told
about 400 different courses by Gujarat Government GCVT.
SHRI. R R VARSANI, CHAIRMAN, MISSION MANGALAM:
Shri. R R Varsani, Chairman, Mission Mangalam encouraged the students by
giving variety of examples. He told students to focus on the path from training
to skill. He discussed advantages of such trainings as work output in short time
with skill development. He told that youth requires skill for national
development and hoped students for good jobs after training.
SHRI. NARENDRA SHRIMALI, CHAIRMAN, CENT:
Shri. NarendraShrimali, Chairman, CENTgave brief definition of skill
development and told students to focus and get involved to gain the skill which
would give stability to both body and mind after attaining the skill.HE
motivated students for such training. He wished a great success to the
programme.

Interaction of Dignitaries with
Students
Prof. Arpit Mehta, Training and Placement Officer proposed Vote of Thanks. He
thanked all the dignitaries for gracing the occasion and for sparing their
valuable time to inaugurate the workshop. He thanked all the Principals and
their representatives present during the function and Faculties of DJMIT. He
thanked the students who would be joining the course. Finally he thanked one
and all who were involved directly and indirectly to make the programme a
grand success.
After Vote of Thanks, National Anthem was sung by all before the end of
function.
HI-TEA:
At the end of the function, the dignitaries on the dais met the students in the
audience and discussed various topics and relevant advantages of pursuing the
welding training.Hi-tea was served to all present during the function.
