SOCIAL COMMITMENTIn 2007, Pikolinos established the Juan
Perán Foundation to focus the company’s
commitment to society and to its
development, with the strong belief that
“another world is possible” and with the
firm conviction expressed by President
Juan Perán to “give back to society part of
what has been taken from it”.
Together with the NGO ADCAM
[Development, Alternative Trade and
Microcredit Association], Pikolinos
has created a project in which Maasai
women embroider leather shoes and
bags by hand, thus creating “Pikolino’s
Maasai Collection” - a wonderful work of
color with the essence of our brand that
represents a unique fair trade project.
Thanks to this initiative, the women of
this tribe have earned a fair salary for
the first time, which has allowed them
to improve their quality of life without
changing their customs and way of life,
and to have access to basic means such
as food and education for their children.
