ST. CHRISTOPHERThe St. Christopher wines comprise of some of the most exciting, unique and highest quality wines being produced in Germany.

St. Christopher offers highly rated Mosel wines like the Top 100 Piesporter Goldtropfchen Spatlese as well well as old German classics likes Zeller Schwarze Katz and Liebfraumilch.

Today the wines range from Rheinhessen Gewurztraminer from to Holidays classics like, Glühwein. The St. Christopher project started in 1992 as a collaboration between Manfred Bauer and Gunther Schlink with the idea of sourcing the best Germany has to offer under one brand.

MOSEL, GERMANYThe Mosel region, named after the river that formed it, is the third largest of the 13 wine growing regions in Germany. Based on international acclaim, it is considered the most popular German wine region and Riesling is far and away the most import-ant grape grown here.

Originally referred to as Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, as the region encompasses the valleys of those three rivers, the region’s name was condensed to Mosel in 2007 to make it more consumer friendly.

The vineyards of the Mosel are comprised of single-vineyard designated plots [Einzellagen] and larger demarcations

[Grosslagen], which encompass multiple Einzellagen. Most of the vineyards are planted on the steep slopes that rise up from the banks of each river.Their proximity to the river provides the vines with the microclimate needed to produce the highest quality wines. The combination of extended daylight during the growing season, due to Germany’s northern latitude – an average of nearly 15 hours daily – along with the temperate climate and unique soil composition are important factors as to why the vineyards of Germany are the ideal home for the noble Riesling vine.

The German Qualitysystem is following European law. Tafelwein and Landwein is basic consumer wine

Qualitätswein is equivalent to AOC in France or DOC(G) in Italy and is related to Wine Areas like „ Qualitätswein Nahe“ or „Chianti DOCG“

Unique in the German law is the Regulation of Prädikatswein. No other country besides Austria has this regulation.

Prädikatswein is completly naturally fermented. It is not allowed to add sugar or change anything in the most.

GOLDTROPFCHEN KABINETTWhile the nose is a bit earthy and brambly, there's plenty of zesty lemon and lime flavor on the palate of this off-dry wine. It's light-bodied and juicy with a lacy sugariness that lingers on the finish"Best Buys" Wine Enthusiast

Inviting aromas of apple blossom and crushed slate introduce this fresh fruity semi-sweet Riesling. Not a deeply complex wine but a rim of tea tannins and pollen notes lend nuance to the finish Top 100 "Best Buys" Wine Enthusiast

Purity and precision abound in this exceptionally light-footed sweet Riesling. It's buoyantly fruity, bolstered by waves of ripe white peach, pear, and yellow plum flavors. The finish feels edged by a fine filigree of lime acidity. 90 Points Wine Enthusiast

Whiffs of apple, pear, and lemon suggest a shyer aromatic expression, but the palate of this off-dry wine is surprisingly sunny and bright. Fresh tange-rine and nectarine flavors are accented by hints of caramel and bee pollen. The finish lingers on a delicately lacy sweetness.

The St. Christopher Zeller Schwarze Katz is produced in the village of Zell along Germany's Mosel River.

The legend is, there was a black cat in one of the most popular cellars along the Mosel, that would each vintage aggressively guard a barrel of Zeller wine that was cellared alongside many other wine barrels. The locals and wine merchants

presumed that the wine in that barrel the cat so heavily guarded was the best and most special of the vintage.

The wine, is a Riesling blend that is very approachable with a delightful fruitiness which is slightly sweet, a perfect pairing wine for Asian Cuisines.
