AXEDALE COMMUNITY PLAN 2018-2022

INTRODUCTIONAxedale remains a vibrant small township, enhanced by the natural beauty of the Campaspe River which winds through the heart of the town. Axedale continues to attract new residents and families who are choosing Axedale as a great place to live, with easy access to the thriving regional centre of Bendigo. Axedale offers the best of both worlds.

This is Axedale’s third community plan. Axedale Our Town Our Future has led implementation of the

previous plans and the community has benefitted a great deal from the initiatives that have been undertaken. Once again Axedale Our Town Our Future has taken the lead in reviewing and renewing the plan with a wide range of community consultation.

As always, the success of plans such as this is in the implementation and achievement of aspirations. Axedale has a proud record and we encourage you to take part in the future success.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY PLANNING?Community planning is a process undertaken by a community where they work together to explore and document what is important to them about their locality and it’s future. A community plan is a document that sets out these priorities. Periodically a community plan will need revision as community priorities change or when the community decides.

The City of Greater Bendigo supports communities across the municipality who wish to develop and

revise their own community plan. The views and priorities in each plan are those of community members who took part in its development. They do not represent the views of the staff of the City of Greater Bendigo, or its councillors.

Community plans are a valuable source of advice about local priorities used by Local, State and Federal government and other organisations.
