ThecompanySince entering the Vietnamese market 25 years ago, Honda has maintained a firm position as a leading manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles.

Alongside vehicle manufacturing, the business also provides repair and warranty services through Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealer.

With products and services provided through intermediaries, Honda could not establish optimal multi-channel communication with their customers. Their options are limited to social media and high-cost promotional programs.

Aiming for greater customer satisfaction, the firm was determined to develop an application specialized for Vietnamese people. Honda+ would allow vehicle owners to keep track of their repair and maintenance history; get notified of maintenance schedules, special offers, etc.; and find the nearest Honda dealers or service centres.

Using such a multipurpose application, Honda's customers and partners can now gain instant digital access to their vehicles' maintenance and repair information, thereby improving their safety and facilitating valuation. The application also helps customers stay up to date on company news and special offers.

As part of the firm's digital transformation efforts, Honda+ is paramount to internal cost-saving, human resources optimization and better customer experience. For instance, a survey on customer needs with a sample of 100,000 respondents often comes at a price and requires the involvement of a third party. With Honda+ entering the scene, the firm can easily reach one million users and obtain survey responses.

Honda+ receives an average of 30,000 visits per day. Sometimes it even reaches a staggering of 60,000. The inclusion of cloud computing is subsequently critical since it smooths peaks. as well as ensures the app's security, consistent performance across multiple platforms; and flexible and smooth addition of changes.

Adopting a customer-centric mindset, FPT always seek to provide services tailored to customer needs.

Leveraging industry-relevant experience, FPT suggested the firm should move to the cloud to unify large chunks to data from a wide array of devices and platforms. The switch from a legacy system with millions of data records to the cloud requires a large infrastructure that can endure a high workload. Moreover, since the app will be used by both the company’s partners and vehicle owners, it should be easily modified when needed.

With proven benefits like flexibility, scalability, security, etc., Amazon Web Services was selected as the cloud platform of choice. And our team managed to migrate 60 million data records to the cloud.

Specifically, we use a wide variety of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to ensure a resizable and secure compute capacity in the cloud. The addition of AWS Lambda to the project is also crucial as the service automatically runs code without our team having to provision or manage infrastructure. The task force therefore have more time to optimize the app.

After the app was launched, our team still play an active role. We continuously maintain its performance and add new features to satisfy the changing needs of both Honda’s partners and vehicle owners in the Vietnamese market.
