    Best Regards, Honey

Honey Johnson, CFPIM, CIRM, C.P.M., CSCP President, Colorado APICS Chapter 81

Welcome to Colorado APICS Chapter’s 55th year! Join us for the 2016 – 2017 education opportunities, networking events and a chance to share with your supply chain colleagues as we celebrate this significant Chapter milestone! Be sure to watch for highlights of our 5+ decades of excellence during the coming months. I would like to extend my sincere ‘Thank You’ to the 2015-2016 Colorado APICS Chapter Board of Directors for an outstanding, dynamic and eventful year. Your Board put in a significant amount of personal time and effort behind the scenes to make each of the courses, events and activities memorable. I hope you were able to share a few of these events with our Colorado Chapter. Thank you also, to our member volunteers for additional help during the year.

2016-2017 was a terrific year for our Colorado Chapter Education program, with outstanding courses and programs providing ‘life-long learning’ opportunities to our customers. Both public and privately held courses continue to receive rave reviews. Be sure to read the quotes from Colorado APICS Chapter students expressing their high regards for Colorado Chapter courses and instructors this newsletter. Join us for an education program soon, including the new CLTD certification course! Programs team will be providing valuable opportunities to discuss current and relevant topics, learn new skills, and network with fellow colleagues at our monthly professional development meetings, local area tours and our acclaimed supply chain networking event. Watch for information on the programs schedule for the planned Professional Development Meetings (PDMs) and tours. Be sure to sign up for the August 25th Networking Event at Denver University. This annual event is hosted by Colorado APICS Chapter 81; The 10th Annual Supply Chain & Transportation Institute Networking Event, and The Denver Transportation Club. It continues to be a highly anticipated and rewarding evening of camaraderie and sharing. Don’t miss out! Registration information is on the cover page. This year we have a strong Chapter Board of elected Officers who will lead us through another banner year: Roger Harris – VP of Professional Development, Lt. Col. Joe Grigg – VP of Programs, Jared Kochik – VP of Membership, Jamie Swan – Secretary, and Gary Williams – Treasurer. The Officers are joined by our Chapter Directors in continuing the tradition of excellence for our Colorado Chapter. In late June we held our annual Strategic Planning meeting to review last year’s accomplishments and set the coming year’s goals and objectives. I appreciate the time and contributions from all the volunteers who help define strategies for the year. Here are our goals for the 2016-2017 Colorado APICS year:

    - Market expansion through expanded geography and generation reach - Membership retention - Increase core PDM attendance - Develop CLTD market - Two-way market awareness - Have Fun!

I hope you have an opportunity to join us throughout the year. Learn from industry experts, mingle with contemporaries, learn from colleagues, and listen to great speakers. Students and seasoned professionals can benefit from the wealth of knowledge our chapter has to offer. I look forward to continuing the Colorado APICS Chapter’s 55-year tradition of excellence and sharing it with each of you.
