WHERE TO FIND MASS LIVESTREAM?
www.sbcatholic.church/live | www.smcatholic.church/live
AS WE MOVE BACK TO PUBLIC CELEBRATIONS OF MASS WE WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE STREAM THE DAILY SCHEDULE OF MASSES.
www.sbcatholic.church/live | www.smcatholic.church/live Ideally, the Mass is digitally cast "live" in real-time, as it is celebrated. Not all Masses and other sacred liturgies are livestreaming and recording for later viewing.
This Sunday we celebrate the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) which means “The Body of Christ” in Latin. This cel-ebration ties us to the event on Maundy Thursday which commemorates the in-stitution of the Holy Eucharist on Holy Thursday. We remember that the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is present at Mass when the bread and wine has been changed into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ and is present among us physical-ly and spiritually nourishing us as Christ nourished his disciples on the night be-fore he died when he shared the last sup-per. For Catholics, Holy Thursday was the first Mass celebrated.
It was only a year ago that our parish family reconnected with the monastic community, bringing back the tradition of a Corpus Christi procession. At the end of Mass at St. Meinrad Parish the Blessed Sacrament was exposed in the monstrance throughout the day for pray-er and devotion. Shortly before 4:00 pm Archabbot Kurt asked God’s blessing upon all gathered for the procession. The Corpus Christi celebration began, carry-ing the Blessed Sacrament covered by a canopy, to the Archabbey Church while our parish family, friends and neighbors along with the monastic community chanted a litany. Following Vespers and Benediction we gathered without social distancing guidelines. We created make-shift dining rooms in conference space for our indoor BBQ hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 5599. A newborn from a neighboring parish was the youngest and Mrs. Josephine Kress, of St. Meinrad Parish, was the senior in the procession who had a “nice ride” on a side x side. My how things change!
I encourage families to explore the weekly Mass schedule choosing a week-end or weekday Mass throughout the year to gather for the Eucharist. Arch-bishop Thompson has provided dispen-sation for the Sunday Mass obligation through August 15. This provides oppor-tunity, keeping in mind social distancing guidelines and incorporating our local plan for reopening for in-person celebra-
tion. Thanks to all who have provided the necessary vision, communication and implementation of our local plan. I felt last weekend everything went very smoothly at each Mass. Saturday evening 16 people were present at St. Boniface. Sunday morning 18 were present for the 6:00 am at St. Boniface and 28 for the 8:30 am at St. Meinrad. Livestream views were 90 at 5:00 pm St. Boniface, 83 at the 6:00 am St. Boniface and with an unfortunate glitch of technology the 8:30 am Mass at St. Meinrad did not livestream. Churches are sanitized before and after Mass, pews are clearly marked for social distancing and the communion line is single file. An usher guides the process. Requests for Liturgical Ministers are slowly forthcoming as new proce-dures are tested and finalized. Thank you for your patience.
FOOD BOX PROGRAM We still have it! What a great joy to work with the 60+ volunteers who have built upon the pa-rishioner sponsored Care Package pro-gram that began on Palm Sunday week-end. It was great to see and serve each other Wednesday evening while lending a hand up to our brothers and sisters in need. Thanks to the Service and Outreach Commission of the parish family of St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Meinrad Catholic Church, parish staff and volunteers, area families, and local businesses, including Automated Routing Inc., Fulda Sportsman Club, Klem's Signs & Restyling, Spencer County Pur-due Extension, Spencer County Sher-iff's Department, Superior Ag, and St. Meinrad Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary are lending a hand up to area farmers in making today's opportunity a reality for our parish family, friends, and neighbors. Boxes distributed and deliv-ered Wednesday 1,056 dairy, 1,540 fruits and vegetables; 25 parishioner sponsored care packages delivered Thursday.
If you know someone who might benefit from a food box, or would like to make a contribution to support on-site efforts of this program, St. Boniface on-site Food Box Program | St. Meinrad on-site Food Box Program

THE MOST HOLY BODY
AND BLOOD OF CHRIST
PAX— Father Anthony, OSB
REQUESTING MASS INTENTIONS
Over the last few weeks a number of
parishioners have asked what the best
way is to request Mass Intentions with
limited access to the parish staff due to
social distancing. In our Sunday Stew-
ardship envelopes there is an envelope
for Mass Intentions. Complete the infor-
mation requested and send the envelope
to the parish office or slip it in the after-
hours mail slot at the east entrance. After
receiving and recording the Mass Inten-
tions you will receive a Mass Intention
Receipt (Donation of the Faithful) listing
the dates your specific intentions are
remembered.
A gentle reminder, a Mass intention is
the specific purpose for which the priest
offers that particular Mass allowed by
Universal Law, the Code of Canon Law
(canon 946). This intention has an ele-
vated status on account of the priest’s
sacramental ordination. The priest, act-
ing in the person of Christ Himself,
brings this single intention to God in an
intensified and more complete way, of-
fering that intention along with the Body
and Blood of Jesus Christ to the Father
in Heaven. The Mass intention is the
primary purpose and reason why that
Mass is offered. To underscore the im-
portance of this intention, the priest can
normally only offer one stipend intention
Mass per day. E.g., a Mass of Thanks-
giving for a particular prayer answered
or special occasion, the intention for a
living person or persons – living mem-
bers of the ABC family or as is most
common, for the repose of the soul of
someone who has died or the deceased
members of the XYZ family. According
to the by-laws of the parish, Ladies So-
dality and Men’s Societies, Mass for the
deceased members of these should be
requested and offered a minimum of
once a year. If for an unforeseen circum-
stance a Mass cancellation occurs, the
intention of the Mass will be resched-
uled on the next available opening. Since
March 16, Father Paul and I have hon-
ored each intention as listed in the bulle-
tin – livestream or in Father Paul’s case
from one of the seminary chapels. Thank
you for entrusting your prayers to us. It
is an honor.

FATHER’S DAY HONOR ROLL
A Father’s Day envelope in memory /
honor is in your monthly Sunday Stew-
ardship series for June. Gifts in memory
/ honor of fathers living and deceased
will be listed in a future publication. All
gifts benefit scholarships for summer
youth programs and will be reserved for
distribution in the summer of 2021.
Join Archbishop Thompson and parishes
throughout the archdiocese on the week-
end of June 7-8 to support the Education
of Future Priest.
The annual appeal for the Education of
Future Priest helps provide for the sig-
nificant financial resources needed to
form men for priestly life and ministry.
The funds received are used to support
future priests preparing to serve the peo-
ple of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis
while in seminary formation. While in
seminary formation, each candidate for
the priesthood engages in four dimen-
sions of seminary formation: human,
spiritual, intellectual and pastoral as he
prepares for a life of ministry and ser-
vice within our archdiocese. Each year
of seminary formation costs over
$35,000 per seminarian. Currently, the
archdiocese has over 25 men in semi-
nary formation.

FATHER'S DAY: JUNE 21, 2020 Fatherhood has its origins in God, who chose to reveal Himself to us as Our Fa-
ther, sending his only Son for the sake of our salvation. Fathers therefore have a spe-
cial role “in revealing and in reliving on earth the very fatherhood of God” (Familiaris consortio 25). Indeed,
the role of the father “is of unique and irre-
placeable importance” (FC 25).
Although society increasingly tells fathers
that they have no say in the lives of their children before birth and fails to recognize
the dynamic and critically important role of fatherhood, it is both a biological and spiritual reality. Pope Saint John Paul II
said fathers are called to exhibit “generous responsibility for the life conceived under the heart of the mother” (FC 25). They are
uniquely entrusted with the protection and defense of both mother and child and, in this way, in safeguarding the sanctity of
human life. Yet research continues to show that the top reasons women seek abortions
include lacking support from the child’s father and financial challenges, which are
only exacerbated by a father’s absence.
As a Church community, we need to en-courage and support men to follow the example of St. Joseph and embrace their
various roles as father. Even if a man is not a parent, he is still called to spiritual fa-
therhood—a fatherhood that fosters others’ relationship with God, protecting them from evil and providing an example of
Christ’s love.
St. Joseph, himself, was unexpectedly called to both practical and spiritual father-
hood, and amid very difficult circumstanc-es. But despite all obstacles, Joseph was faithful. He welcomed life, offering care
and protection to Mary and Jesus. We pray that each expectant father will find courage
in the example of St. Joseph and offer lov-ing, life-affirming support to the mother of
his child.
Join us in offering a spiritual bouquet to St. Joseph, patron of fathers, for Father’s Day! We invite you to comment with prayer
intentions you’d like to be entrusted to St. Joseph. We also encourage you to partici-
pate from home with these simple sugges-tions: www.respectlife.org/fathers-day-
activity ©2020 by United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
