Draft framework for an organizational strategy, to be coordinated by the Office for Equity, Gender and Cultural Diversity (EGC), under the direction of the PAHO Deputy Director, for regional and country level technical cooperation for pro-equity health policies, programs and plans going forward, in alignment with the preliminary recommendations of the PAHO Independent Commission on Equity and Health Inequalities in the Americas, other equity focused global and regional WHO approaches and initiatives (as relevant to the region);

Provide concrete proposals to strengthen intersectional approaches to health equity, considering gender and cultural diversity, inclusion, and empowerment; 

Identify strategic partners and counterparts to promote cross regional and intersectional work towards health equity, including innovative proposals for strategic approaches and, where relevant, resource mobilization; and 

Design inputs into regional technical cooperation and capacity strengthening initiatives and, in coordination with other PAHO entities at regional and country levels, country specific plans to strengthen pro-equity health policies and programs to effectively reach populations living in situations of vulnerability, considering gender and cultural diversity, inclusion and empowerment.

Identified, developed, managed, and monitored technical cooperation projects and research within Latin American and Caribbean governments.

Managed quantitative randomized control (RCT) and non-experimental design impact evaluations to demonstrate the effectiveness of interventions in the reduction of women’s experience of physical and psychological violence produced by an intimate partner, as well as physical and psychological violence in dating relationships.

Published four technical working papers to deliver results of findings. Provided key gender and diversity technical assistance to cross-functional project teams in Belize, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago resulting in the

inclusion of key measures of impact for women, African descendants, and indigenous peoples.

Developed a portfolio of direct gender-focused operations and projects to include gender-related indicators in Latin America in the areas of prevention and services for violence against women; women’s entrepreneurship training; youth skills development; and financial inclusion.

Designed and supervised technical cooperation projects to construct 4 Gender Equality Centers by establishing strong working relationship with the Municipality of Medellin and establish region-wide reference for models of programming around women citizen’s security.

Analyzed and executed a $1M project to establish natural parks for the protection of voluntarily isolated indigenous peoples in Peru leading to a historical government decision to approve the creation of three reserves, associated guard posts, and health protocols for this population.

Drafted a $10M proposal for Commonwealth support to develop national plans addressing violence against women in the Caribbean, and submitted to DFID for consideration.

Led the design, implementation of 3 impact evaluation studies of interventions for women victims of intimate partner violence and an increase in funding and coverage for the evaluated programs.

Co-designed and managed the first pilot data collection on intimate partner violence in Trinidad and Tobago.

six-month practicums in international NGOs, UN, and international academic institutions. Provided mentoring and guidance for students in the Master’s program.
