A word from the presidentEver since I was a young man growing up under the communist rule of the Soviet Union, I knew God had his hand on my life. During the awaking years at the close of the 1980s, many in our Pentecostal churches began immigrating to the USA. God clearly told me to stay in Kazakhstan and plant churches throughout the nation. God used the New Life Bible Centre to establish a vibrant Full Gospel church ministry, Bible School, and over 90 daughter churches.
With a renewed call to evangelism in 1990, God spoke to us about video and television. This was an incredible step of faith, but with God’s abundant blessing, New Life Channel was launched on the first cable network in December 2000. In July 2002, CNL began broadcast-ing on satellite reaching 74 countries.
The response to this first Christian channel in the Russian language was overwhelming and many Russian cable networks approached us to allow the channel on their network. Quickly the number of cable stations carrying CNL grew, where at the close of 2007, CNL is carried on over 500 cable networks from Kazakhstan to Germany. Recently God has used the ministry of CNL to unite churches in Central Asia and in Germany, where many pastors, and several thousand people have gathered for national and regional conferences. More conferences are planned in the nations of the former Soviet Union. Testimonies flow into our offices throughout the world, on how God is touching families, and changing lives. With millions of Russians now living across the globe, the message of love, hope, and salva-tion through Jesus Christ can reach into their homes in 115 countries, from Central Asia to the United States of America.
I invite you to partner with us in bringing the Gospel to all the Russian-speaking people groups from various faiths. You can do this either through prayer, finance, or through acquiring airtime on the channel.
May God bless you, that you may be a blessing,Until all have heard

Russians
Did you know that the Russianword for ‘Saturday’ is Sabbath,
and the word for ‘Sunday’is resurrection?
Russia and the UkraineThere are approximately 100 people groups in Russia, making up a total population of 145 million people. With a further 50 million people in the Ukraine; 13 million are Russian, however the Russian language is widely spoken, with most major churches in Kiev hold-ing their services in the Russian language.
Central Asia and AfghanistanThe Muslim Republics of Central Asia were dominated by Russia for over 300 years. Most of the 62 million people speak or at least understand Russian. After 70 years of enforced Atheistic commu-nism, many are Muslim in name only. Questions abound, and CNL
exists to bring light and truth. For many years the USSR sponsored the tertiary education of many in Afghanistan. There remains today an educated class in Society who have a working knowledge of the Russian language.
IsraelThe Jewish people throughout the world have always sought to re-turn to the land of Israel. Since the opening of Russia’s borders, over 1 million Russian-speaking Jews have immigrated to Israel. This means that 1 in 5 people in Israel speak Russian today. CNL is an effective tool to reach Israel with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today, the Russian language is counted as an international language spoken in almost every major city of the world. Since the collapse of the USSR, millions have emigrated and now live all over the world. The Russian language dominated the Soviet Union and was the principle language of education and commerce, as well as being understood across Eastern Europe, Cen-tral Asia, Afghanistan and Cuba.
CNL seeks to show a loving and car-ing God that can be known and expe-rienced in all walks of life. Salvation by faith in Christ Jesus is available to everyone, and with your help we can bring this message of truth to millions from different people groups, faiths, and worldviews.
GermanySince 1990, Germany has had a policy of open immigration for Ger-mans living in the Soviet Union. During the Second World War, Stalin forced the relocation of many ethnic Germans to Siberia and Kazakhstan. Today it is believed that approximately 3.5 million people in Germany speak Russian.
United States of AmericaIn the late 1980s, the Soviet Union allowed an increased immi-gration policy. Thousands of Christians immediately applied, and under the USA’s ‘persecuted peoples’ policy, most were granted permission. Today, many Russians, Ukrainians, and other people
groups of the former Soviet Union live in the USA. This number is estimated at 7.5 million Russian speakers. Major centres for Rus-sian speakers are New York, Chicago, and Sacramento; with many Russian churches in the North West between Seattle and Portland.
Other worldOther world centres where Russians can be found are: Istanbul, Dubai, Barcelona, and many others. Media is an effective tool to reach this wide spread community, and television allows the church to come right into all their homes.
Russian people are very religious, and consequently very superstitious. Many Baptists and Pen-tecostal Christians have a deep belief in Jesus, and hold strongly to their convictions. Orthodox Christianity is steeped in tradition and many are held in bondage to its requirement for works and ritual. Seventy years of Atheistic communism has not eradicated a belief in religion, and many fear an unknown yet existing God.

The HotBird satellites are the most popular telecommunication satellites for non-English channels; with over 800 channels broad-casting in Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Turkic, and many European and other languages. All Hotbird satellites are in the same orbit mean-ing that one receiver and dish picks up all channels.
The coverage area for HotBird spreads over 74 countries. CNL is a ‘free-to-air’ channel, meaning we do not use encryption. Those who turn their satellite dish to HotBird, he will be able to watch CNL. Even if someone subscribes to a ‘Pay TV’ package on HotBird, he will also receive all the free channels, including CNL.
In the future, we plan to place CNL on
additional European satellites, which will
increase the availability of the channel.
HotBird
Satellite Footprint Eutelsat, who is based in Paris (France), owns these satellites. Ac-cording to their research, there are 40,000,000 homes receiving the HotBird channels. However their research is only conducted in half of the countries covered and so we know that the potential audience is much higher than this.
We are not able to conduct our own research into who is receiving the channel, or who is watching CNL. But from dialogue with those who live in Russian population centres throughout this window we believe there are over 15,000,000 Russian speaking homes connect-ed to HotBird, and therefore able to view the CNL channel.
Yamal 201
With the addition of the Yamal satellite in 2006, CNL not only reaches to the far East of Siberia, but also gives two opportunities for viewers in the populated areas of Western Russia and the Ukraine. Freedoms in Russia has given rise to a hunger for information. To-day most Russian families have satellite television from HotBird or Yamal, or receive satellite channels through cable.

At the request of many Russians liv-ing in the USA, we began broadcasting across the entire United States of America, Canada, and Central Amer-ica in June 2005.
Most English speaking Ameri-cans are only aware of the satellite and cable packages offered by me-dia companies. There has not been a widespread awareness of ‘free-to-air’ (FTA) satellite TV in America. This is now changing, especially among immi-grants and others, where English is not their first language.
There are several satellites over the USA spe-cializing in foreign language channels. The most popular is ‘Galaxy 25’, formerly known as Intelsat Americas 5. There are over 250 channels on Galaxy 25 covering many languages, including four FTA Russian language channels, one being CNL.There are also eleven English language Christian chan-nels.

In recent years, the people of Ukraine have seen God at work in their country. Since the fall of the Soviet em-pire in 1990, Ukrainians have witnessed economic hardships, political upheaval, a nuclear reactor accident, gas shortages, and ….. miraculous church growth. People are hungry -emo-tionally and spiritually.
With recent changes in media regula-tions, media outlets are being forced to promote the local Ukrainian lan-guage over the equally popular Rus-sian language. Ukrainian language channels are being given prime spots in the most popular cable packages. CNL intends to make the most of this opportunity by offering the first Ukrai-nian language Christian television channel.
Programs in Ukrainian language are few. Please join us and we can organize the translation and broadcast of your programs to this densely populated region.

With digital technology, cable stations have been able to increase the number of channels in their packages. Since 1990 many cable chan-nels have mushroomed in all the countries of the former USSR. No one knows the total number of stations that exist throughout this region, but we estimate there to be more than 1000 cable stations currently operating.
Since the start of our satellite broadcasts in 2002, we have actively
sought out cable stations, to enter into agreements with them for the CNL channel to be included in their package. As of the end of 2005, more than 500 cable stations carry CNL.
We have established offices in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany and the USA, and will soon expand to include additional European nations.

Cities where CNL is retransmitted in cable networks
Here is the answer of a cable operator on the question ‘Why do you want to in-clude CNL in cable network?’ “Now television is full of ‘thrillers’ and it would be nice to refine TV air, so to say, to start accustoming to good things…Belebey, Bashkiria, Russia
We receive many phone calls not only from Christians but are from non-be-lievers, who ask us to broadcast “channel for soul.” I think now I can satisfy their desire by broadcasting of your channel.Russia
For one month CNLTV retransmitted on our cable network as a test to de-termine its popularity with our subscribers. This Channel provoked definite interest among our viewers and that is why we decided to continue to retrans-mit CNLTV.Director of cable network “Briz”Odessa, Ukraine.
Thank You! CNLTV retransmits on our cable networks, and we receive only positive responses from our subscribers.CJSC NGO “Information Technologies”Kiev, Ukraine.
Russian and Ukrainian language tele-vision: Four channels – 24/7, worldwide coverage through internet streaming and video downloads.
The vision of CNL ministry is to provide spiritually uplifting pro-grams, with life’s answers to all Russian and Ukrainian speakers wherever they may be. Hunger is not restricted to scheduled meal times; rather hunger is at any time and needs an immediate re-sponse.
CNL is excited that all three channels on the three different satellites and the Ukrainian channel are available through internet stream-ing. We all know that the new generation is computer literate, and internet is the major means of information sharing. This is no dif-ferent for Russia and the former Soviet Republics – perhaps more so. Their hunger for unbiased news, and free access to previously forbidden knowledge has provided a surge of computer sales and internet access in the past decade. CNL seeks to meet that hunger and thirst.
To provide even easier access to popular and high demand pro-grams, CNL has established a large video server where we store hundreds of programs. At any time, our viewers can download a program to watch on demand, share with their church home groups, or as gifts to family members and friends – perhaps the best tangible gift they’ll ever receive.
CNL’s four streaming channels require no subscription, but are available to anyone who enters our website.

Q: Is this satellite popular among CNL’s potential audience?A: Yes, it is very popular. According to Eutelsat the potential
audience of HotBird satellite consists of more than 44 mil-lion homes. Most Russian channels, broadcasting to immi-grants from the former Soviet Union, are on this satellite.
Q: Is there an ongoing effort to increase the audience on CNL?
A: Yes. The CNL team is working hard to expand the influence of CNL. It is cooperating with cable net-works, as they rebroadcast CNL and also in the pro-motion of the channel in churches by conferences, pastor’s meetings and com-munication with believers. The results of these are: growing popularity of CNL not only among the satellite’s audience but on cable networks too. In the five years of broadcasting over 500 cable stations have agreed to carry CNL.
Q: In what countries is the CNL signal received?A: CNL is now broadcast on 4 satellites that covers the major-
ity of 115 countries. Look at the maps on previous pages to see each satellite’s footprint.
Q: In what language will CNL broadcast? We have programs in English. Can you broadcast them on CNL?
A: Our broadcasting is done only in Russian and Ukrainian. We welcome programs in other languages but these pro-grams must be translated into Russian or Ukrainian. If you have programs in English that you wish to broadcast, our studio can facilitate professional translation into Russian or Ukrainian.
Q: How much does it cost to broadcast on CNL?A: Please, send your inquiry to [email protected] or phone
us in the USA 1 (888) FIND-CNL (toll-free call from USA and Canada) and we will discuss the cost of broadcasting on CNL. Our staff will be happy to answer your questions.
Q: With what formats can I provide my programs to CNL?A: MiniDV (NTSC, PAL), DVCAM (NTSC, PAL), DVD
(NTSC, PAL) and BetaCam SP (PAL).
Q: How much will it cost for a person to view CNL monthly?A: Nothing. CNL is a non-encrypted, free to air channel, which
means that if a person owns a satellite dish that is pointed to the satellite, they pay no monthly fee to receive CNL.
