ABRAHAM SPEAKS Not by my merit, but by His grace, am I given this opportunity to pen this article. For the past twelve Years, I have spent the lion share of my walking hours within the walls of Marian School. Right from LKG, When my parents say I howled in that class, up to 10th standard under my firm, Marian has been my second home. Through all these years, God’s mercy stood as a shield against misfortune for me. Marian is melting pot of children of diverse talents, accademics, Sports and Arts being regarded with equal importantce. My teachers opened for me doors of knowledge to various subjects. They walked me through the wonders and mysteries of each new chapter. They lucidly explained and encouraged us to question and clarified our doubts. They applauded when we did right think, they chided when we strayed. They elicited discipline without being dictatorial.My teachers at Marian are among the best teachers, that I will ever have. But, today after 4 years, stepping out of Marian was the hardest thing for me to do. When I Proudly say that I am a Marianite, deep inside I know that if I have turned out to be a better person it wouldn’t have been possible if I wasn’t part of this family. Classroom aren’t just books, blackboards and teachers in Marian, but a whole new experience of bonding, knowledge and fun. Every child is motivated to understand and excel in their talents. The best part of our small family is that our teachers know each of us like their own. Our school logo that quotes “Domine Illumine me” that means “Lord thy face to shine upon us” Today I realise that it is true as each student in the campus is taken care of by God through teachers who give us motherly care and a campus with homely feel. And this is why, today I stand on those same stairs and tell myself that I am gonna miss every bit of Marian, and wish that those days hadn’t gone by so fast. Marian Senior Secondary School, Kottayam. I was in science stream. I scored 95 percent in my class 12th CBSE board exams. I thank all my teachers, parents and all those who were behind this success. My teachers were the backbone of this success, then my parents, without them this success was not possible. I extend my sincere thanks to our principal Mrs Rajatha. B, our physics teacher for her encouragement, support and motiva- tion. My teachers continuously encouraged me, cleared all my doubts and motivated me in each step. I really thank them. I was an average student in my class. I took each exam as a chance to improve myself and worked accordingly. So from many failures I got success. Failure is the stepping stone to success. Anti Drug dayAnti- drug day was observed in our school to create awarenessamong the students about the menace of drug abuse. The studentsof class 7 A staged a fabulous skit during the school assembly. Theskit focussed on how the youngsters get trapped by drug dealersand how to save youngsters from the dreadful consumption of thedrugs. The skit was greatly appreciated by all those who weregathered for the school assembly.

One of the foremost reasons for the success of Marian overthe years is its impressive troops of leaders. These youngleaders, instrumental in the disciplinary progress of the schoolhave piloted Marians to its greatest triumphs and victories.Leadership, strict discipline, academic excellence andinvolvement in extra curricular activities, have been the criteriaon which parliamentarian membership is bestowed upon theiryoung shoulders. The students from class XI and XII werevested with the responsibility to administer the student bodywhen Marian held its investiture ceremony.
