Wendell Witham, age 97, of Jamestown, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. Born December 22, 1914 in Russell County, he was the son of the late Thomas Joshua Witham and Francis (Archie) Witham. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Emma Ann Oliver Witham and one daughter, Anna Faye Fisher. Mr. Witham was a farmer and member of the Rockhouse Christian Church. Survivors include one daugh- ter, Vida (Phillip) Withers of Norwood, Ohio; one son, Shelby (Wanda) Witham of Cincinnati, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. The funeral was Friday, January 20, 2012, 1:00 p.m., at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Carroll Egnew and Bro. Hugh Withers officiating. Special music was presented by Brent and Brandy Thompson. Pallbearers were Gary Withers, Lowell Cummings, Donald Witham, Kenneth Witham, Rick Perkins and Roger Witham. McGaha, age 88, of Liberty Road, Columbia, passed away Wednesday January 18, 2012 at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center, Columbia. He was born October 21, 1923 in Adair County, and was the son of the late Alfred and Mattie Williams McGaha. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Barbara J. Bryant McGaha of Columbia; two sons, Senator Vernie McGaha and wife Connie of Russell Springs, and Darryl McGaha of Columbia; a daughter, Denise Glanzer of Campbellsville; a sister, Maxine McGaha of Campbellsville; four grandchil- dren, Brian McGaha and wife Jeannie, Susan Popplewell and husband Tim, Jennifer Houk and husband John and Brandon Glanzer and wife Megan; five great-grandchildren, Luke Popplewell, Braxton Glanzer, Bryant Glanzer, Skyler Houk and Taylor Houk; special care- givers, Gary Lawless, Patsy Kemp and Barbara Jones; sever- al nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a member of New Hope Separate Baptist Church, and a field representative for Southern Wood Piedmont Co. He was an original quartet member of the Crossroads Quartet which was formed in 1960, singing in churches and gospel singings locally, in sur- rounding counties and other states and was a veteran of World War II. He was a mem- ber of the Adair Gideon Camp. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the New Hope Separate Baptist Church in Columbia with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Brandon Glanzer officiating. Pallbearers were Brian McGaha, Brandon Glanzer, Tim Popplewell, John Houk, Travis Bryant and Ronnie McGaha. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Wooldridge, Dave Powell, Lucian Ware, Jimmy McGaha, Gary Lawless, Patsy Kemp and Barbara Jones. Reva Rae Grant, age 75, of Jamestown passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at her home after several months illness. She was born September 27, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Alma Pierce Hill of Russell County. Survivors include her hus- band, Charles Grant of Jamestown; a daughter, Sharon Kay Warbiany and husband Len of Alsip, Illinois; a daugh- ter-in-law, Sue Grant of Elwood, Illinois; six grand- children, Shaw Warbiany, Shannon Donato and Phillip Warbiany, Michael Grant, Michelle Slattery and James Grant; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Glenn Grant in May 2011 and two brothers, John and Collin Hill. Mrs. Grant was a member of the Fairview Separate Baptist Church and was retired from Borg Warner auto assembly plant in Belwood, Illinois.
