A400M MRO Hanger RAF Brize Norton Type of System: Stormwater Attenuation Date of installation: July 2014 Tank size: ASP Tank 4697m A400M Tank 3542m 3 Site Problem: A RAF base in Brize Norton required two big tank to accommodate 8239m of surface water airplanes. A solution was needed to help alleviate flood risks around the site that would allow traffic to continue moving during heavy storm events and prevent flood damage to surrounding properties. Project/ ClientRequirements : The tank was to be located beneath a heavily trafficked area by HGV vehicles and airplanes with a high water table (Very close to the ground level). A solution had to be found that would accomodate these requirements. This meant that on top of dealing with the usual stormwater requirements, there was also need to consider structural loading from the surrounding road traffic. Furthermore the scheme was to be adopted by Kelda Water and the roads had to be compliant with highway authority requirements who had specified requirements for inspection and maintenance access points as well as various other requirements for Environmental Sustainable Solutions Ltd Sladen Mill, Halifax Road, Littleborough, Lancashire, OL15 0LB Tel: +44 (0) 1706 374416 Fax: +44 (0) 1706 376785 Email: [email protected] Web: www.y-ess.com Registered in England No. 03115064 Registered Of ce 3 3 to be installed in a deep excavation with high water table, and aheavily trafficked area above by HGV vehicles and the supply of appropriate test data.
