K5BMC Electronic Interlocking System is a fail-safe Interlocking
system designed to meet
CENELEC SIL-4 Standards. K5BMC system can be configured as
centralized or as well as
distributed interlocking system. It is very much suitable for
distributed type electronic interlocking
system. It is very much effective in Auto section / IBH concept of
signalling. It is based on Two Out
of Two (2oo2) architecture with a hot standby provision and
automatic change-over facility.
Logic sub rack (LK7-C) uses two independent channels for computing
the vital interlocking.
Hot standby with automatic change-over facility is provided.
Redundant optical fiber
communication provided between LK7-C and Field units (ET/EP-5 sub
rack) & CCIP (ET/EM-6 sub
rack. In Logic Sub-rack for handling communication 2 communication
cards (FSIO and FSIO-EX)
used for each system. In generally FSIO card used for communication
between Logic sub rack
and Field units (ET/EP-5) and FSIO-EX cards used for communication
between Logic sub rack
and CCIP & operator VDU.LK7-C to Field units & LK7-C to
CCIP units connected in daisy chain
topology.
ET/EP-5 sub rack provides interface between filed gears and logic
sub rack. ET/EP-5 Sub
rack consist of Input & output card (ETPIO2) and Power Supply
and communication card
(LINE2B). LINE2B cards used for communication between field gears
and logic sub rack. LINE2B
card have 2 optical fiber channels for communication.
ET/EM-6 sub rack provides interface between CCIP and logic sub
rack. ET/EP-6 sub rack
consist of Input & output card (MMIF2) and Power Supply and
communication card (LINEM2).

LINEM2 cards used for communication between Panel and logic sub
rack. LINEM2 card have 2
optical fiber channels for communication.
Logic sub rack to Operator VDU, Maintenance VDU, and Journal Module
connected through
optical fiber. In Opera VDU and Maintenance VDU one communication
interface card (INIO2) used
to connect to logic sub rack. Datalogger connected to Logic sub
rack to through Journal Module,
Journal consist of optical to electrical conversion cards.
LOGIC SUB RACK Communication Modules:
FSIO & FIO7 [P] cards:
• Each logic sub rack consists of one FSIO card which is placed
next to F486-4I card. The FI07
[P] board is connected to the FSIO card; it is placed on the rear
side of logic sub rack.
• FSIO card together with FI07 (P) card is used for communication
of F486-4I with ET/EP5 sub
racks and MTC.FI07 [P] acts like electrical to optical converter
for FSIO board.
• FIO7 [P] has 5 multimode fiber optic communication channels in
that 3 channels are used for
communication with ET/EP5 sub racks and 1 channel is used for
communication with MTC, 1
Channel is reserved.
• To one channel a maximum of 15 I/O boards of ET sub racks can be
connected
• The data transmission rate between MTC & FSIO is 307.2Kbps
and ET/EP5 sub rack & FSIO
is 31.2Kbps
FSIO-EX & EXT-FI07 [P] cards:
• Each logic sub rack consists of one FSIO-EX card which is placed
next to FSIO card. The EXT-
FI07 [P] board is connected to the FSIO-EX card; it is placed on
the rear side of logic sub rack.
• FSIO-EX card together with EXT FIO7 [P] card is used for
communication between Logic sub
rack and operator VDU/Control panel. Ext FIO7P is a electrical to
optical converter for FSIO-Ex
board
• EXT-FI07 [P] has 3 multimode fiber optic communication channels;
in that two channels are
meant for communication with Operator VDU and /or EM6 (Panel
processor) .One channel is
kept reserved.
• Data transmission rate of FSIO –Ex and Ext FIO7P is 31.2
kbps
DID Card:
• Each system is provided with one DID Card which is placed in rear
of the logic sub rack
• It is used for data transmission between CPU cards of system I
& system II
ET SUB RACK Communication Modules:
LINE2B modules:
• It is the communication cum power supply card in ET sub rack. In
each ET sub rack two number
of LINE2B cards are provided.
• This card has two multimode optical channels for communication
with Logic sub rack and other
ET sub racks.
• It transmits data in serial transmission method with a data rate
of 31.2kbps using optical cables.
EM6 SUB RACK Communication Modules:
LINEM2:
• First two slot of EM6 Rack is allotted for LINEM2 card of S1
& S2 respectively.
• LINEM2 card is used for the communication between logic rack and
EM6 sub rack.
• LINEM2 card is also act as a Power Supply Card for EM6 sub
rack.
• LINEM2 card is having two optical channels. One channel is for
Input connection from Logic
Sub rack and the other channel is used to connect with other EM6
Sub rack.
OTHER COMMUNICATION MODULES:
SPHC-TT:
• SPHC-TT is the optical splitter card. It’s used to divide one
communication line into 2 lines.
• In generally it is used to communicate between logic sub rack
with MTC and Journal module.
version 01 20
SPHC-PA:
• SPHC-PA is the optical convertor card. It is used to convert
multi mode to single mode and
vice versa.
• K5BMC All communication modules (FIO7 [P], EXT-FIO7 [P], LINE2B,
LINEM2) interface is
multimode optical fiber. To transmit data to long distance
multimode is converted to single
mode using SPHC-PA and used.
INIO2:
• INIO2 is a communication card for operator console and
maintenance console to logic sub
rack. INIO2 is having two optical connectors to connect with
System1 and System2. Two
types of INIO2 cards are available.
INIO2-ET (OPC)
INIO2-MT (MTC)
• Single INIO2-ET card is enough to drive the OPC communication.
But for MTC
communication 2 no of INIO2-MT cards are required.
DATALOGGER CONNECTION:
• External Data logger connected to Logic sub-rack using Journal
Module and Protocol
convertor, Without Journal module external data logger can be
directly connected to Data
logger also.
• When External Data logger connected using Journal module, Logic
sub Rack FIO7 [P]
cards Maintenance Line optical channel will be used for connecting
Maintenance terminal
and external data Logger.
• Journal Module consist of optical to electrical convertor card
(ZNIO2) which receives optical
data from Logic sub rack converts it to electrical data. Electrical
data will sent to Protocol
convertor and data logger through ZSIO2 card.
• When External Data logger connected without Journal module, in
Logic sub Rack EXT -
FIO7 [P] cards serial communication port (CN5) will be used. CN5 is
the Serial
Communication port supports which supports RS-485 interface.
• To prevent surges at Logic sub rack side and protocol convertor
side Optical to Electrical
and vice versa convertor cards used
• CN5 will be connected to electrical (serial) to optical convertor
and optical data transmitted
to protocol convertor.
• At protocol convertor received optical data will be converted to
electrical data using optical
to electrical (serial) convertor.
