The Von Trapps• The Von Trapps are the family that the popular 1965 musiclal “The Sound of Music”

was based off of.• They lived in Austria but left during the Nazi invasion and came to America.• The Sound of Music was really not a good documentation of their actual life, there

were ten children, not seven. All of the names, sexes, and ages of the real children were rearranged. Maria came to them as a tutor for one of the children not as a governess to all of them. Maria was not as sweet and perfect as they portrayed her and Georg was not as cold and mean as his character. The bottom line is this was a movie not a documentation of their life.
