AAE Affiliate/Study Club News Over 30 members were in attendance at the first 1990-91 meeting of the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex Endodontic Society. Held October 8 in Dallas, the meeting was highlighted by a presentation on the man- agement of furcation perforations given by Ronald Lemon, Chairman of the Department of Endodontics at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Also, officers for 1990-91 were elected at this meeting. The Arkansas State Dental Association welcomed Noah Chivian as the featured speaker at the Arkansas State Dental Association Scientific Session last Septem- ber. The Arkansas Association of Endodontists hosted Dr. Chivian during his stay. During the business meeting of the Arkansas Association of Endodontists, outgoing President Harvey Matheny installed Jim Orahood as President for 1990. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club Program Chairman Kevin King (left) presents a plaque to Dr. Aiden Stephens, Dean of Loyola University School of Dentistry, commemorating Loyola as the site of the 1st Harold Epstein Memorial Lecture. The Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club sponsored the first Harold H. Epstein Memorial Seminar at Loyola University School of Dentistry on October 31, 1990. Dr. Epstein was a co-founder of the Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club and the club's first president. He also was the first licensed endodontist in the State of Illinois and in the United States. This seminar will be sponsored annually by the Coolidge Club. Dr. Jens Andreasen, internationally reknown for his expertise on dental trauma and root fractures, was the guest speaker. His topic was entitled Recent advances in the treatment of traumatic dental injuries. A sellout crowd of over 160 were in attendance. 44
