1. Application Development- User Defined Tool (UDT) Development on VB6(01 Oct

2012 – 04 Oct.2013)

Team develops excel and access based UDTs to cater to Line of Business wide automation

requirements. Team members directly gather requirements from business users and perform the

role of both Business Analyst and tech developers. Another major task is to remediate UDTs

and keep them policy complaint to ensure accuracy of their output. The scope of the automation

UDT can range from Reconciliation, to market Securities setup to income generation to Trades

booking and their Settlement to NAV Valuation calculations. Internal clients to name a few are

Income, Corporate Actions, Reconciliation, Settlement, Pricing, Trades and Taxation.

Work Profile:

Gather requirements & continuously interact with business users on the tasks to be

automated & developed.

Develop UDTs (excel based macro building on VB6 or SQL based Access Apps).

Ensure steady run of the tool and assist users in case of issues.

2. EMEA Static/ Reference Data, Fund Services/ Accounting, Investment Banking

EDIN Static data or Reference data caters to four major regions UK, Dublin, Luxembourg and

EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) and multiple clients like Artemis, Aviva, Blackrock,

J.P. Asset management among others. It primarily sets up assets on the WINS accounting


platform i.e. the fund accounting platform for various upstream and downstream internal

clients like Client On boarding (upstream) & Trades, Income, Pricing, COACS event booking,

Taxation and finally NAV Valuation calculations (downstream). The team works closely with

all these clients to ensure successful accounting for all on boarded client on a day to day basis.

It directly uses market vendors like Bloomberg, FTid, Euroclear and Telekurs to ensure

correctness of the set up.

Work Profile:

The work involves analysing, creating market reports and setting up market securities on

internal legacy systems with due analysis using market vendors like Bloomberg,

Interactive Data, Euroclear etc. The client coverage is vast and covers all the asset pool for

major clients.

Performing various daily, weekly and monthly checks to ensure the correctness of all

accounting entries & their reporting

Singlehandedly migrated & catered to a highly critical & blueprint internal client

(JPMAM) out of India location on I-Lite project. It involved linking all JPMAM assets to

unique Ilite identifier to ensure successfully COB reporting

Submit regular (Weekly, Monthly) MIS i.e. Tasks report, Error Report, Training

Reports etc. to the management.

Manage people, conduct regular one on ones, supervise process controls & create

IER/RERs (external and internal error reports) in case of reportable errors.

Drive and facilitate process improvements projects, identify obsolete tasks & open risk

areas.

Work closely with UDT (User Defined Tool) team to help them automate manual or semi

manual tasks to reduce risk & improve efficiency.

Role of supervisor and QC for a team of 10 people

Maintain process specific procedure (SOP) documents, trackers for audit & reporting

purposes.

Create several digitized training module & assessments for new hires on the team.

Maintenance and Archival of hard copies for all accounting setup backups.

Project Topic: Impact of Macro-Economic Variable on Stock Prices - An Event Study Approach

Project Objective: The purpose of the project was to analyse the effect (if at all) of the macro

announcements on the stock prices of the various companies. If any effect has been found then what is the

span of such an effect i.e. for how many days can the effect be seen around the announcement dates. The

projects also aimed at suggesting buy hold and sell strategy based on the CAR (Cumulative Abnormal

Return).

Office Work: Did the job of an event analyst wherein different events related to the listed companies of

the U.S were first analysed and then fed into the database It is used for further analysis by the company and

also referred by the clients for decision making.
