Major Projects

• Assisted with the ISO Audit• Goal: Receive less than 3 findings

• Corrective action from ISO Audit• Goal: Dispose all paint while updating SAP on hand

• Adjusted bulk lead-time• Goal: Update SAP with current lead-times of each vendor

• Decal digital printing• Goal: Implement a faster way to receive decals with Standard Register

• New work center• Goal: Design a more efficient layout for the paint shed, using the FIFO method

4 4

Accomplishment – ISO Audit

• Responsibilities:• Static measuring devices• Check

• Process Qualification Plan (PQP)• Process Qualification Guide (PQG)• Visual Operating Procedure (VOP)• Playbooks

• Outcome:• 100% success under my responsibilities• 2 findings overall

• Expired paint• Gage in Maintenance was not calibrated

• Take corrective action

Goal: Receive less than 3 findings

Accomplishment – Expired Paint

• Corrective Action from ISO Audit• Paint cans – 2 years• Aerosol cans – 1 year

• Took inventory• Dispose of paint in

• 55 gallon drums and Gaylord box (yard boxes)

• Issue part out of location• From 7000 to 2000

• 7000 – in location• 2000 – on the floor

• Adjusted off in SAP• B01

Goal: Dispose all paint while updating SAP on hand

6 6

Accomplishment – Bulk Lead-Time Update

• Verified 79 vendors’ current lead-times• Compared current vs. new lead-times• Pulled spend history over last 12 months

• Eaton’s business warehouse tools• Updated in SAP

• Decreased lead-times• Decrease WIP (work in progress)

Goal: Update SAP with current lead-times of each vendor

7 7

Accomplishment – Standard Register

• Problem:• 14 day lead-time• Completed transformer could be sitting for two weeks• Variability in stock on hand and what SAP states

• Digital printing:• Overnight shipping• First Cooper Facility

• Process:• Met with Standard Register• Sent engineering drawings with current quantities• Received quotes and updated in SAP

• Outcome:• Decreased lead-time

• 14 days to 2 days

• Increase throughput• Increase cash flow per month

Goal: Implement a faster way to receive decals with Standard Register

8 8

Accomplishment – New Work Center

• Measured the shed, racks and cabinets to get accurate data and positioning• Based on what we have, what would be the best layout?• Researched different racking systems – Pallet flow rack

• Quoted 6 vendors for Pallet Flow Rack• Presented it to the team

Goal: Design a more efficient layout for the paint shed, using the FIFO method

Other Projects

• Designed and printed a new VOP for the Adjustable Jib Boom, Fall Protection System• Ensure safety on the floor

• Learned SAP fundamental aspects for purchasing• MD04, MM03, ME11… etc.

• Interplant rescheduling via scheduling agreements • Communicating with other plants to expedite materials• Low in stock and need sooner than delivery time

• Shipping Status• Confirm part shortages for each tank

• Implement a new process for Kirk Keys• Keep getting new materials• Standardize?

Training and Development

• Toured our plant and others• Badger and Watertown• Understand the difference and similarities between all the plants• How each plant connects to one another

• Learned several programs in SAP (System Application Products)• Quantity and Location of Part• Create and/or update PO’s• Enter PIRs, Source Lists• Translate into Spanish if necessary• Updated Expedites to pull in or push out• Cleared MRBR issues

• invoice receipt = goods receipt

• Sat in on vendor meetings• Their contribution to Eaton• What is needed or what can be changed

My Experience Going Forward

• ASK QUESTIONS!• Never a bad question and everyone is always willing to help

• Work relationships are extremely important within the field• Build trust and respect

• Always give 110% • Better to work hard the first time than to work on the same thing several times

• Absorb EVERYTHING!• There’s so much to learn from every single person in the plant, learn it!
