    Back of Bonnet:

    With F hook ch 5, sl st to form a ring.

    Round 1: Ch 1, sc in ring. *Ch 2, Sc in ring, ch 2* 5 times more.

    Sl st to join in first sc (6 sc, 6 ch 2 spaces).

    Round 2. Ch 1, 2sc in joined stitch, ch 2. 2sc, ch 2 in each sc of row 1.

    Join as before. (12 sc, 6 ch 2 spaces.)

    Round 3 Ch 1, sc in joined stitch. 2 sc in next sc, ch 2.

    Skip chain space. *Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, ch 2* around.18 sc 6 ch 2 spaces.

    Round 4 Ch 1, sc in joined stitch, sc in next sc, 2 sc in third sc,

    ch 2, skip space. *Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, ch 2* around.

    Note: to decrease, yo and sc two stitches together.

    Row 1. Ch 1. Working in back loops of sc and ch stitches, work sc in each

    of next 42 stitches.

    Row 2 .Ch 1, Decrease over next 2sc, sc in next 39 sc, Dec last two sc

    together. (40 sc)

    Row 3. Ch 1, sc in 1st 2 sc. * Ch 3, skip 2 sc, sc in next 3 stitches.*

    Repeat from * to * 6 times. Ch 3, skip 2 sc, 2sc in last sc. Ch 1 turn.

    (8 ch 3 spaces 25 sc)

    Row 4: Ch 1. Sc in first sc. Skip next sc. 5dc in ch 3 space.

    (next three spaces). Sc in next three dc. * Repeat from * to * 6 times.

    Ch 3, skip next three stitches and 1 sc in each of last two stitches. Turn

    Rows 8 to 11 (Repeat Row 4 through 7 once ) Do not fasten off.

    Row 12, Ch 1 turn. Working across front of bonnet, sc in each sc,

    3 sc in each ch 3 space across. Sc in last two stitches.

    Do not fasten off.

    Neckline:

    Row 1: Ch 1. Turn and working along bottom of bonnet, evenly space

    43 sc across bottom of bonnet. (generally 1 sc in each row, 2 sc in each

    hdc and ch 2 spaces.) Ch3 turn.

    Row 2: Skip next sc, hdc in next sc, ch 1 across. Hdc in last sc.

    ( 21 spaces) Ch 1 turn.

    Row 3: Sc in 1st stitch. Hdc in next space, ch 1, slip st in top of next

    hdc in previous row. Ch 1, hdc in next space, sl st in top of next hdcaround.

    Hdc in last space, ch 1, sl st to ch 2.

    Fasten off. Weave in ends.

    Weave ribbon through spaces in neckline for tie. Add ribbon roses as

    desired.
