The name Rishihood signifies the state of being a Rishi and is derived from Swami Vivekananda’s inspirational discourse.

Swami Vivekananda is the philosophical mentor to Rishihood University. His ideas motivate us to conceive a paradigm of education where we prepare ‘Rishis’ – individuals who become a blessing to mankind through their thoughts and actions.

Rishihood is an impact university. We believe in an ‘ecosystem’ approach to learning rather than isolated training and research. Our learning environment inspires people to contribute to society in a positive way and achieve ‘rishihood’.

Nations are built over centuries. Similarly, institutions are built over decades. India’s role in a 21st-century world is that of immense responsibility and it is our duty to align the objectives of our institutions to the larger vision of the nation.

Today we live in a very complex world that has experienced an explosion in knowledge, but not in growth in understanding; a world in which people have lost trust in their leaders and faith in their institutions; it’s a world that has developed amazing technologies, but has isolated humans, leaving them with a feeling of life without purpose and or even the value of human endeavor.

Rishihood University is uniquely positioned to answer these questions and train studentsto live in such a world and to find better solutions to everyday problems. We as a university are committed to the discovery

and transmission of knowledge in a setting of our cultural and sociological heritage as a nation. We take pride in giving our students a global experience. RESEARCHER’S HOME

It is well-accepted that academic research has contributed enormously to find solutions to many problems faced by our society and industries. The need for sharing knowledge between research institutions and industry has become increasingly evident. In view of this, Rishihood University has established the Researcher’s Home on its campus.

GAP YEAR PROGRAMME

Rishihood’s Gap Year Programme is a unique and innovative self-discovery programme to nurture a better orientation towards academic and work life. Students, after completing school, are provided with a year-long structured programme of exploration, leadership development, unlearning and learning. The programme targets to equip the students with the tools, skills, and habits for self-reliant adulthood.

CENTER FOR WATER

Rishihood is about creating a social impact. Water is perhaps one of the most important dimensions that need human attention for a sustainable future. The Center for Water is a pan-India research and training initiative where we work with social sector organizations, government, and individuals to prepare humanity for the emerging water challenges.

CITY BRANDING

Every place has its own culture and a local flavor to it. To inspire cities and influencers to foster a sense of pride, we launched the City Branding project at Rishihood. The project draws from our academic resources and creates pilot initiatives for local area development. Such activities help the cities in economic development, social harmony, raising the living standards, tourism, and global appeal. We are working for the city of Sonipat and joining hands with other cities so that we can collaborate for city branding in different regions across the world.

Our learning framework is a fluid design.Each level leads to the other. As an organization, our vision defines the purpose of learning. The institution brings that vision to education. This vision seeps into our schools to define the areas of learning. This then results in the learning outcomes. Based on the learning outcomes, we define the methods of delivery and evaluation.

Each level provides the guiding framework for the next. In turn, each level gives feedback to the previous. Thus we move from vision to execution and back, creating an integrated framework.

20:30:50Our pedagogy is defined by the process of holistic and experiential learning where Rishihood University follows the principle of 20:30:50 rule. Under this system studentsspend only about 20 percent of their time in learning by hearing (lecture format), 30 percent of their time is spent on learning by seeing things (visual impact), and the remaining 50 percent of their time is spent on learning by doing (experiential). This is a unique experiment in higher education as in this method of learning all the senses of a human body are used in the learning process. Thus, it takes the students from a system of dependent memory to a system of independent thinking and problem-solving.

Rishihood is collaborating with like-minded institutions globally to foster education, research and transfer of knowledge for a sustainable future. The university has signed MoUs with Ural State Agrarian University, Russia; Kyungdong University, South Korea; and Kaospilot School, Denmark to stimulate and facilitate mutually beneficial programs and to contribute to increased international cooperation in teaching, learning & research.

CLASSROOMS, LABS & STUDIOSRishihood means “experiential learning”. At Rishihood University you will experience a whole new world of academic excellence with state of the art modern and air-conditioned classrooms and latest technological back-up. Our classrooms naturally trigger a progressive learning experience for the students with the best possible teaching facilities under the supervision of the learned and experienced faculties.

Our labs and studios are designed very judiciously to help our students and faculty explore the real-world. Learning by doing is one of the integral parts of our teaching methodology. To facilitate the best of the outcome, our labs and studios are well equipped with the latest teaching tools.

KNOWLEDGE RESOURCE CENTER (LIBRARY)Rishihood is about diving deep in search of knowledge.

Rishihood University library has beendesigned keeping in mind the international standards which create a very conducive environment for research and learning. It provides access to high-speed Wi-Fi and other means of digital communication. Qualified staff is available to support the needs of the students, faculty and the staff. Our large collection of books and journals,including e-books and e-journals together with printed collections, enables everyone to have extensive access to the resources that you need for your assignments, reports, and other academic content.

AUDITORIUM & SEMINAR HALLSRishihood is a stage you can’t miss.

The campus has a fully equipped 400 seater air-conditioned auditorium and three 120 seater seminar halls which provide a substantial space to explore, study, interact, enjoy academic and non-academic events.

It has state of the art audiovisual facilityto hold convocation, national-international seminars, and other activities. Seminar halls at the campus are places to provide a level of interactivity that other places and traditional methods of communication fail to do. They are aesthetically designed where all the important workshops and seminars are held. The conference halls are built to host several dignitaries to share their valuable insights with our students and faculty members.

Our rooms are comfortable and secure, allowing you to focus on your studies and enjoy everything that Rishihood has to offer. Hostel rooms are designed for double occupancy with central air-conditioning and all safety and fire equipment in place.

DINING AND MEAL SERVICESA key feature of our campus is its organic farm and associated dining services. Our dining facilities are designed such that the students enjoy delicious and healthy meals whether it is breakfast, lunch, evening snacks or dinner. The dining space is not just a place to eat but also to build life-long friendships and have informal conversations with the teachers.

Student Mess Committee is involved inthe menu planning process and the quality control of the food that is served to students, faculty, and staff. Normally the menu can be changed from week to week depending on the type of food students would like to eat. There are special places designated for students to celebrate special events such as birthday, festivals or just to sit back and relax with various types of music.

HEALTH & WELLNESSRishihood is a family that cares.

Rishihood provides a safe and healthy environment so that we can focus onlearning and innovation. Health and wellness are given utmost priority and an infirmary with a 24x7 doctor-on-call facility is available on campus for the students. There are qualified staff members with proper first aid training

who are there to ensure first aid treatment at the earliest and shifting to a hospital if and when necessary.

ARTS & CULTURERishihood is about being joyfully creative.

Art and culture are a part of the life of a student at Rishihood. Photography, painting, music, dance, theatre, and otherareas of performing and creative art areencouraged on the campus. The University plans to have its own band both for Western Music and for Indian Music andthe selection for this will be based onauditions that will be conducted. Exhibitions depicting the Art and Culture of India will be a regular feature of campus life. Creativity is our culture.

WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR ?We are looking for thoughtful, brave, curious and calculated risk-taking students who are as dedicated to making the future as we are.

If you think you may not qualify, leave it for us to decide. Our selection committees carefully review the applications and the aim is to provide admission to those who will gain the maximum from being at Rishihood and will successfully complete their intended degree programme.

WE VALUE DIVERSITYRishihood welcomes students from all backgrounds, be it language, ethnicity or religion. We make sincere efforts to make the campus home for all incoming students. You will benefit from help even before you come to the campus, including advice on applying for a visa for international students and helping you to improve your English language skills. International Students’ Orientation Programme will give extra information about things that are particularly relevant to international students, such as the India academic system, immigration information, cultural transition, and shopping and budgeting for life in India.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSIONSBoth Indian and international students require a minimum of 60% or 6 CGPA in grade 12 or equivalent from any recognized board of education. In most undergraduate programmes, we accept an equivalent of CBSE Level 12 certificate, such as an IB

Diploma, Cambridge Pre-U, Cambridge International GCE A-level, Pearson BTEC Level 3, etc. For postgraduate programmes, we require the students to have completed an enabling bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% to apply for admission.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID POLICYRishihood University places great importance to the academic achievements of its students. The University is driven by the philosophy of need-blind admissions. In this process, our admissions are independent of the scholarship or financial aid requirements of prospective students. There are several kinds of financial support that are available to students. However, they may be competitive in nature so we advise students to apply timely in the prescribed format available on the website.
