Handprinted in Schools We can deliver workshops at your school. Workshops are charged at £200 for a half day or £300 for a full day and include all all materials excluding T-shirts. T-shirts can be supplied at £2 each or can be provided by the school. These courses are suitable for Key Stage 2 and above. The workshops we currently offer in schools are: We take the students through the steps required to tie dye T-shirts using rainbow colours. Focusing on colour mixing and pattern, the students will learn the process of how to manipulate the fabric to create various designs. Working individually or as a group, students will use paper stencils to produce their own T-shirts. We will take students through the processes of mixing fabric inks, preparing a screen and pulling a successful print. Groups in the Studio Workshops for Teachers

INSET Day Training£200 for a half day, £300 for a whole day + materialsDelivered in schools, catered to your school’s needs

These workshops are designed to meet the individual teacher’s needs. Held at our studio in Bognor Regis we can equip teachers with the printmaking or dyeing skills neeeded to produce successful outcomes in the classroom.These individual workshops can last from 2 to 5 hours depending on which techniques are required and are charged at £35 per hour including materials. Topics that can be covered include:

Screen Printing - We can cover both screen printing on paper and textiles. We can give instruction from basic paper stencils (suitable from KS2) through to creating photographic screen printing for layered artwork. We cancover types of mesh, choices of ink, suitable substrates and practical screen printing applications.Relief Printmaking - We can cover Lino, Woodcut, Soft Cut, Polystyrene, and Speedycarve. This workshop can be focused on relief printmaking for paper or textiles.We will outline the differences between inks, various ways of printmaking with blocks. For textiles we can lookat creating repeat patterns and for works on paper we can look at creating a reduction block. Tie Dye - From simple rainbow tie dye through to more complicated shibori patterns. We will use cold water dyes and go through the recipes of how these dyes can be used safely in a school situation.Batik - Working with hot wax, we will go through the various techniques to create batik in the classroon. We will instruct in the various stages of dyeing and how to build up an image using wax and dyes.Monoprinting - Classic monoprinting using an acrylic sheet and oil based inks or the use of Gelli Plates in the classroom (Gelli Plates are a reusabe gelatin style printmaking surface that is used with acrylic paints and without a press).

Handprinted run workshops at our studio in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. Suitable for groups of 6 - 12 students from KS2 - KS5.

Sessions can be adapted according to the needs and ages of the groups and can cover:

Screen Printing - Printing with paper stencils or the photographic method onto paper or textiles. Relief Printing - Printing using Lino, Woodcut, Soft Cut, Polystyrene or Speedycarve, adapted to the age range of the group.Tie Dye - Simple rainbow tie dye through to more complicated shibori patterns. Using cold water dyes safely for a range of great results.Batik - Working with layers of hot wax and dyes to create images onto cloth.Monoprinting - Classic monoprinting using an acrylic sheet and oil based inks or using Gelli Plates (a reusable gelatin style printmaking surface used with acrylic paints and without a press).

Studio sessions last 2 1/2 hours and cost £75 + £5 per student.
