The Korenix products are all required to pass the High Power 1200-1500 VAC Port to Port Isolation Protection (Ethernet to power, Ethernet to chassis, Ethernet port to port) to protect operators from electrical shock. HiPOT is an abbreviation for high potential. A HiPOT test (also called as Dielectric Withstand test) verifies that the insulation of a product or a component (also referred to as the dielectric) is capable to protect operators from electrical shock.

Life Vibration & Life Shock Tests

The public transportation systems, such as buses, trains, Mass Rapid Transit carriages or cruise vessels, usually undergo heavy duty operations in industrial networking applications. The heavy anti-vibration/shock life test and the wide operating temperature are among the top criterions for industrial networking product requirements. Korenix has successfully conducted a 250-unit of JetNet 5010G test with seven loops of Rapid Super Ring and Dual Homing II with Cisco Switch 3650. In addition to previous REAL test, this REAL test will also discover the rebooting time of 250 JetNet 5010G. When man-made broken link occurred in any of the seven Ring loops and another man-made broken link path occurred in one of the Cisco Switch 3650, it still generates 50% uni-cast traffic and 5K MAC-address to the ring. This is a milestone of Korenix Technology that an enormous quantity of linked switches will not affect the network performance and reliability. More importantly, when we conduct the tests to measure the time needed to reboot 250 units of JetNet 5010G, we also have achieved a low average of 60 seconds after numerous attempts. A 60-second rebooting time for 250 linked switches is a revolutionary achievement that is beyond our competitors’ dreams.

REAL Ring Recovery Test

The Examination of PCB (Printed Circuit Board)

The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is inspected by microscope including fine pitch, surface mount, TAB and BGA technology. Electric test probes are used to establish a connection between a circuit under test and the measuring instrument. In addition, we use oscilloscope to translate an electronic signal into a pattern or waveform on a screen. As it is traced across the screen, the waveform creates a signature of the signal's characteristics.

Long Distance Fiber Communication

The communication architecture of substation automation is under a revolution nowadays. Legacy architecture consists of various solutions which have their own proprietary communication devices and protocols often result in problems of maintenance costs and interpretabilities. By utilizing the standardized communication protocol, Ethernet, the next generation substation merges different solutions into one single world. EMI immunity, such as surges, conducted and radiated electromagnetic disturbances, are especially challenging to equipments in substations.

ANSI/ISA-12.12.01 Certificate for Electric Equipment Used in Hazardous Locations

Locations with flammable gas or materials involved in igniting which may cause risks to life and properties are considered as hazardous environments. To protect against explosion under normal operation in Class I, division 2 hazardous locations, the JetRock series is in accordance with the standard UL1604 or ANSI/ISA-12.12.01. The standard requires that equipments’ construction and components to prevent making arcing, sparking or thermal effects involved in igniting the surrounding flammable materials. Components or the device can be sealed to against entrance of external atmosphere and to separate internal arcing parts or hot surfaces.

DNV foundation aims at safeguarding life, property and the environment in sea and ashore. Instrumentation and automation equipments installed on “ships”, “mobile offshore units”, and “high speed, light craft and naval surface craft” should comply with the rules of DNV classification. The standard defines limits for emissions and immunities which allow equipments to operate together on ships properly. It also specifies immunities to power supply variations and failures due to large changes in load or changeover to emergency power supplies in sea environments. JetPoE Series consists of Managed and Unmanaged PoE switches, delivering up to 30 watts via RJ45 cable while it transmits the data. All PoE are designed for industrial environment with wide operating temperatures, anti-shock, IP31, 1200V HiPot and fanless.

JetRock series is designed to provide ultra rugged protection against the threats of the toughest working environments and the roughest industrial usages. Sealed by extra thickened aluminum enclosure, JetRock achieves the highest level of ingress protection, IP67/IP68, while withstands significant impacts. By equipped the rugged RJ45 and the M12 connectors, JetRock guarantees robust connection even subjected to constant vibration and heavy shocks over the long term.

JetPort Serial Device Server Series is a smart RS-232 or RS-232/422/485 to Ethernet serial device server. It connects the serial port devices such as card readers, measurement devices, or data acquisition terminals, over Ethernet, as if it were locally attached which meets all customers’ requests such as redundant, security, I/O and multi-link functions. JetPort Series also comes with freeware such as JetPort Commander, an user-friendly utility with auto device discovery in a LAN or adding devices on the public network.

JetCard Series uses Oxford OXmPCI954 chip, a 4-port Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter, which is well-known for its high performance. Each UART channel in the JetCard offers data transmission speed up to 921.6 Kbps, and bi-directional 128-byte FIFO for each port. Deep FIFO can reduce the CPU's loading, saving CPU's resources for other important tasks. This chip also allows JetCard to be compatible with the widely-used industry standard 16C950 devices and PCI bus.
