The Everytown Survivor Network is committed to bringing survivors of gun violence together to build communities of support throughout the country. Many survivors say it is a powerful experience to meet, share their personal stories, and advocate alongside other survivors because they understand and care for one another in a unique way.

The Everytown Survivor Network provides opportunities in-person and online for survivors to connect with each other, honor the lives of their loved ones, and create long-lasting bonds.

CONNECTING SURVIVORS

EMPOWERING SURVIVORS

Survivors of gun violence have the unique moral authority to remind their elected officials and everyday Americans that our weak gun laws have serious consequences and to urge them to take action to reduce gun violence.

With support from the Everytown Survivor Network, survivors have shared their personal stories with the community, coordinated petition drives, hosted phone banks, canvassed door-to-door, and led awareness campaigns in support of common sense gun laws.

In 2015, the Everytown Survivor Network launched two flagship survivor leadership programs:

The Survivor Engagement Lead Program helps volunteers across the country connect with survivors to build a local survivor community. Participants receive training on how to approach survivors with care and, when appropriate, help survivors become more effective gun violence prevention advocates.

The Survivor Fellowship Program trains survivors in story sharing and grassroots advocacy to help them become leaders in the gun violence prevention movement and change the conversation around gun violence in their community.
