Welcome to Toodyay WA A unique country experience an hour drive from Perth The Toodyay Food & Picnic Trail is a self-drive journey providing access to your choice of locally grown seasonal produce for your picnic basket. Along this trail, you will meet the growers and producers of dates, olive oil, wine, breads, pastured meats and condiments to fill your picnic basket... along with a camel experience! Toodyay is known for its parks, wildflowers, nature reserves, natural bushland and riverside areas - so bring your picnic basket, stock it up and head to one of the many picturesque locations. The trail can be experienced in half a day, a whole day or be enjoyed over a few days - the choice is yours! Perhaps stay a while at one of the many B&B’s and other accommodation in town and out in the bushland surrounding Toodyay. COORINJA WINERY Coorinja Winery Vineyard Established in the late 1870’s the winery has operated continuously, making it one of the oldest wineries in the State so come and experience the wine and history. All grapes are grown on scenic undulating slopes around the Toodyay property. We offer wine tasting and cellar door sales. Perhaps find a picnic spot near the cellar or a quick walk up to the old Ringa Railway Bridge and Harper Brook. Town Parks: Head to Duigee Park where there is plenty of lawn, shade and BBQs provided; or head to Newcastle Park for a quieter spot. Nature Reserves: Further explore Toodyay. Take a scenic drive within the many conservation and nature reserves. Breath the fresh air. View sunsets and the clear night sky. Walk Trails: Walking tracks in Pelham Reserve - all interlinked and range from 500m to 2.25km; or the Bilya Walk Track along the Avon River for 5km. Getting aroundThe Toodyay Food & Picnic Trail is generally experienced with your own transport but other options are available for those that choose to head to Toodyay by train. The AvonLink / MerredinLink train service travels to Toodyay, and it is one of WA’s most scenic train journey’s. For times and bookings please go to: www.transwa.wa.gov.au. If you travel by train you will need to make arrangements for transport once in Toodyay.

There are no car hire companies in Toodyay, but there are a number of tour operators and a transport hire service. Prior bookings - well in advance - are essential.

Historic Toodyay is just an hour east of Perth in the picturesque Avon Valley. Turn off Roe Highway and head down Toodyay Road for 65km and enjoy the scenic drive where every season has something to offer. Experience wildflowers, vineyards, olive groves, bushland, alpaca, camels and working farms including fields of canola and lavender.
