Abstract

This research explains Indonesia’s interest on environmental issue cooperation in Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Degradation Framework with Norwegian. The cooperation that has put and signed into Indonesia Letter of Intent toward Norwegian in 2010 is one of both states implementation and manifestation on saving the world environment from disaster. Environmental issue nowadays is not a small discourse anymore and it has taken the international politics attention since its correlation to human life. When environmental issues is not taken seriously, then billion numbers of human will lose their life hood as one of the impact of environmental degradation by carbon dioxide emission of industrial states.

This research applies library research methods where data that has been complied come from books, journals, and relevant websites about environment. The research is built from liberalism perspective that is focused on cooperation studies, between Indonesia and Norwegian by rational choice theory and national interest concept.

The result from this research shows that Norwegian is chosen by Indonesia as cooperation partner on securing Indonesian’s forests because Norwegian has a strong commitment to securing and/or save environment. Norwegian has funded numbers of tropic country.
