FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE COURSES – FALL 2015 If a Bachelor’s Degree is your goal, then an Academic Plan is your roadmap to get you there. As you complete this Academic Planning Assignment, you will become familiar with the requirements necessary to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University. In order to create your Academic Plan, you will need to use the NEIU website (www.neiu.edu). You will also need to meet with your Advisor, so be aware of and manage your time carefully.

WRITING, MATH, AND READING COURSES Placement into Writing, Math, and Reading courses is based on your ACT scores and NEIU Placement Test results. Directions: Complete the following sentences. If you do not know your placement, ask your advisor.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS The three undergraduate colleges at NEIU are the: (1) College of Arts and Sciences; (2) College of Business and Management; and (3) College of Education. The College of Arts and Sciences offers majors in the Fine Arts, Social/Behavioral Sciences, Natural Sciences, Humanities, and Mathematics. The College of Business and Management offers majors in different areas of business. The College of Education offers both teaching and non-teaching majors. All students must complete a major. The term “major” refers to the main subject that you will study.
