(i) Pundit Nain Singh Rawat memorial lecture is organized in the department from

2002. Pundit Nain Singh Rawat was a famous explorer and surveyor of 19th

century who has

discovered and mapped the then unknown world of Tibet and thus awarded Patron medal of

Royal Geographical Society of London, Gold watch from Paris Geographical Society and CIE

from British Government. On December 8, 2012 the eleventh lecture was delivered by Prof.

L.M.S. Palni, F.N.A. Director of the Himalayan Institute of Environment and Development, Kosi

,Katarmal, Almora.
