Thematic Observances

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration

Mahatma Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniver-

sary was celebrated on 03.10.19. Students

of Std VI presented a skit on ‘Salt Satya-

graha’. A speech presented by a student of

Std III recalled the selfless sacrifice of the

‘Father of our Nation’.

Charts portraying Bapuji’s life in Sabarma-ti, his association with other National lead-ers, his famous quotations etc., were dis-played on all bulletin boards to pay re-spects the leader.

Dengue Awareness Rally

With the aim of combating the deadly

disease Dengue, Staff and Students of

SBIOA International School, Mambak-

kam, organized a special DENGUE

AWARENESS RALLY on 15.10.19.

The rally was flagged off by the Headmis-tress Mrs.Vijayalakshmi Nageswaran. Stu-

dents of std VI carried placards high-lighting the causes, consequences and prevention of Dengue.

World Animal Welfare Day

World Animal Day was observed on

04.10.19. The speech presented by students

increased awareness that a world can be

made a better place for the animals. It focus-

ses on the welfare of animals.

National students day

National Students’ Day was celebrated on

15.10.19.

People’s President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s

birthday was celebrated as Students’ Day.

The celebration was marked by a special

assembly that was conducted in his hon-

our. Famous quotes by Dr.Kalam were

read out. Students recalled his early child-

hood, his journey towards science and his

contribution to India as a President.

Planting Sapling

On 16.10.19 Tiny tots (Pre.KG) of KG

were encouraged to plant saplings in our

school campus. Apart from the curriculum

children learnt the merits and the im-

portance of trees, by growing more trees to

save our mother Earth.

ICE-2019 Mega Mela

To make children realise that we are part of nature and not apart from nature, a Megs Mela ICE – I Care for Earth -2019 was orga-nized on 18.10.19. Students from class I - VII displayed various models and projects that brought out various aspects of Environ-ment like weather, Habitat Conservation, Wild Life, Human Health etc.,

The opportunity given was best utilized by

students to showcase their understanding

and also share their knowledge with general

public and parents to protect our Earth for

safe, healthy and peaceful living.

3rd Annual Inspection

Annual Inspection of the school was con-ducted on 24.10.19 by a team headed by Mr.V.V.Anand, Administrator, Mr .D. Ra-vikumar, Principal Global School and Dr. Indra Jayaraj, Vice Principal SHARP-EN. The panelists comprising of Compart-ment Heads and Academic Supervisors of Various SBOA Schools observed the teachers and inspected the records.

A review meeting was also conducted in

the evening.

Diwali Celebration

Festival of Lights ‘Diwali’ was celebrated with fun and laughter by the Dept. of Kin-dergarten on 25.10.19.

Students in colourful attire assembled in the ground and witnessed the display of fire crackers.

In the special assembly that was organized, children spoke about the Evil and Bad nature in a person’s character. They understood that Good will always conquer the evil.

KG teachers advised them on the safety pre-

cautions to be taken during the bursting of

crackers.

National Unity Day

National Unity day was observed on

31.10.19. The day focused on the efforts

taken by Sardar Vallabhai Patel in unifying

India and the need to stay united in spite of

our cultural and regional differences.

A special assembly was organized to pay

tribute to the great man. Students took oath

for keeping India united.

Others

Ayudha Pooja Celebration

Ayudha Pooja was celebrated on

05.10.19.

Buses were cleaned and decorated for the

celebration. All the Teaching and Non-

teaching staff attended the Pooja.

Dengue Awareness pro-

gramme

On 21.10.19 Dengue Awareness pro-

gramme was conducted by Tagore Medical

College (Department of Community Medi-

cine) to the students of Class IV, V, VI, and

VII to bring awareness about Dengue Fe-

ver, Causes and prevention. Students

raised their doubt which was clarified by

Dr. Mansoor & Dr. Anand.

Joy of giving

Students from Std I & II went to ‘Anbagam’

an orphanage near Kolathur on 22.10.19.

They shared the joy of festival by contrib-

uting dresses, toiletries, cereals &pulses etc.,

which were collected from the students of std

I-VII. Children realized a small gesture from

their side like spending time and contributing

the essential supplies with the elderly in-

mates and kids could bring happiness to the

underprivileged people. This instilled a sense

of responsibility towards the society and also

made them count their blessings.
