2 - P.G. Student union Council Inaugurated:

Physics PG Council was formed on the basis of merit on 17- 10- 14 in the

presence of Dr. R. N. Singh principal and Dr. special guest Janbhagidhri

president shri Sarojani banjare. H.O.D. of Physics department Smt. P.B. Taunk

and Mr. Suresh Kumar Patel( Asst. Prof.) and staff. Office-bearers nominated

2- PG Student Council Activity:

2.1. Teachers Day celebration:

Teacher’s day was celebrated on 05-09-2014 in department of physics and quiz

competition and other activities were done on this occasion.

2.2. Welcome Party:

On 05-09-2014, M.Sc. final students gave Welcome Party to M.Sc. previous

students. Many games were played by students. They all enjoyed this party.

Final students suggested to pre. Students, how they will prepare and fight with

exams and will get knowledge.

2.3. Group Discussion:

A group discussion was organised in Physics Department on an interesting

topic Electrical Components. In this discussion PG students take part and

enjoyed.

2.4. Quiz Competition:

In this competition all P.G. students took participate. In this quiz competition

many questions related to physics subject asked to our students. Also question

related to general studies, general knowledge, current affairs asked to make

their knowledge strong. Students really enjoyed this.

2.5. Bhabha Jayanti: On 30-10-2014 Dr. Homi Jahangir Bhabha jayanti

was celebrated in the presence of Principal Mrs. Anita Maheshwar, Dr.

Omkarlal Shrivastava H.O.D. of maths dept., Mr. Sanjay Panday department of

applied physics CCEM Raipur, Mrs. PritiBala Taunk H.O.D. Of physics dept. and

Mr. S. K. Patel sir.

2.6 .Parents teacher meeting: Parents teacher meeting was held

on 05-01-2015 in physics department. In which discussion was done on

theoretical and practical subjects.

2.7. Aluminize Meeting: On 19-02-2015 aluminize meeting was

organized. Ex-Students took part on this meeting. In this meeting Miss Shweta

Sharma(NET,GATE) and Miss Gracy Chourasiya intimated to M.Sc. students

about net/set exam and its syllabus.

2.8. Birthday Celebration:

On 12-01-2015, Birthday of H.O.D. (Smt. Priti Bala Taunk)

On 26-02-2015, Birthday of Lab Technician (Mr. C.R. Sahu)

2.9. Special classes given by P.G. Students in Dilapahri

On 08-02-2015 M.Sc. student gave special classes for students of class 9th, 10th,

11th and 12th. They cleared their doubts and queries. After that they are

satisfied from these special classes.

2.10 Educational tour for U.G. and P.G. Students : On 28-01-

2015 U.G. and P.G. students went Chhattisgarh science centre Raipur

(C.G.). They get very useful and different types of information about

science, our mineral resources, equipments, Galaxies, different flora

and fauna in C.G.

3- Programme organised under CPE scheme:

3.1 Equipments purchased by CPE funds:

Jager apparatus, Timer application, Fresnel formula, Microprocessor trainer,

Charging and discharging of condenser, Travelling microscope, Spectrometer,

Astronomical telescope, Furness, LED characteristics, FET characteristics,

Energy band gap, Transistor characteristics, Digital multiplexer, Full adder, Full

substractor, Stop clock, Screw gauge, and vernier callipers.

All above equipments are very important for practical purpose to both PG and

UG students. Many new instruments were purchased by CPE fund so that

students know something new. It is essential for the up gradation of our

department.

3.2 Guest lecture for P.G., U.G. and Add-on (EEM):

Guest lecture: On 17-10-2014 Guest lecture is given by Mr. B.R.Verma,

H.O.D. of physics department, Govt. P.G. college Kurud, dist.- Damtari (C.G.).

His topic was satellite communication and networking system. Through RADAR

system we get the information of weather, target search etc.

Guest lecture: On 30-10-2014 guest lecture was delivered on LASER

by Dr. Sanjay Panday, Department of applied physics CCEM Raipur.

Guest lecture: On 19-11-2014 guest lecture on the topic Atomic Spectra and

Coupling Scheme is given by Dr. Anjali Awadhia from Govt. Science College

Durg (C.G.). In this lecture students of M.Sc. Physics were present.

Guest lecture: On 03-02-2015 guest lecture gave by Mr. Rajesh Chopra

from Yugantar Institute of Technology, RJN (C.G.). He gave the

lecture on semiconductor devices.

Guest lecture: On 31-12-2014 Mr. Joshi From Ashoka Institute of

technology, RJN (C.G.) gave the lecture on Regulated Power Supply

and filters for U.G. and P.G. students.

Guest lecture: On 29-01-2015 guest lecture gave by O.P. Verma

H.O.D. E.T.& T., CIT College Rajnandgaon (C.G.) on the topic

ELECTRONIC Over View for U.G. and P.G. students.

4. Extension activity: On 16-01-2015 M.Sc. physics students

gave seminar on basic components at Govt. Hr. sec. school Dilapahari

(adopted village), Rjn (C.G.). After these M.Sc. students organised

Quiz competition. In which student of Dilapahri took interest. M.Sc.

students gave prize for their encouragement.

5. Efforts made for the poor and brilliant students:

Extra classes were taken for B.Sc.-1st, B.Sc.-2nd, B.Sc.-3rd year students. Timing

was 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Special notes (searched by internet) and advanced

books given to brilliant student for improve their knowledge. We intimate

6. Remedial Classes: It was organized for B.Sc.-I, B.Sc.-II and B.Sc.-III

year students and the time was 3:00pm-4:00 pm. They have improved on all

fronts, i.e. understanding, oral and written performance. Class test was also

taken for improve their written skill.

7. Efforts made to improve result at B.Sc.Part I: It was

decided in the departmental meeting that qualified teachers will take-up class

of B.Sc.-I year. Smt. P.B. Taunk, Mr. Suresh Kumar Patel, Shweta Sharma and

Munika Rathod were engaged B.Sc-I theoretical and practical classes. Question

Bank was prepared by regular teachers and gave it to students of B.Sc.-1st year

and also for B.Sc. 2nd and B.Sc. 3rd year students. Unit wise tests are also

conducted. During continuous and daily attendance irregular students were

ask to regular attendance in class. Post cards were sent to him/her.

8.NET/SET Coaching: It is given by Regular Teacher and Guest lect. of

the department. Assignment was given to solve and class tests were taken.

Previous year’s paper pattern was shown and discussed about this pattern in

class. Classes were conducted by Smt. P.B. Taunk (H.O.D.), Mr. Suresh Kumar

Patel (Asst. prof.), Miss Shweta Sharma (NET, Gate) and Munika rathod.

9.-Preparation for Competitive Exams: Students are

prepared for multiple choice questions, short answer questions, paired

questions, and long answer questions. They are encouraged for regular and

hard practice. The department has initiated and motivated the students for

competitive examinations. The eligible students given the NET examination in

December 2014 The department paste competitive examination alert to the

departmental notice board. The information pasted in notice board includes

probable dates of form filling, examination dates, venue of examination, fee

and carrier importance of examination. A separate copy of examination alert is

also attached with the report.

11. A. National conference /work shop/Seminar

organised –

One Day Workshop for E.E.M. Student: On 09-01-2015, One day

workshop is organised by Physics Department on Electronic Equipment Maintenance. In which our honourable chief guest is Dr R. N .Baghel Pt. RSU.Raipur and Prof. V.D. Lalchandani (Retd. Prof. of physics) Bilaspur (C.G.). Prof baghel gave a lecture on basic knowledge of computer softwere and hardwere. Prof. V.D. Lalchandani gave a lecture on this workshop, in which students of EEM and PG students were present. He told how our life is incomplete without electronics. He explained principle and working of Rectifier with use of model. Students took interest and learn how they will make this model.

Organized by Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg(C.G.). 09 P.G. students

Science day celebration: On 24-02-2015 and 25-02-2015 science day was celebrated at Govt Digvijay

P.G. College. Respected V.C. Dr. S.K. Panday came as Chief Guest and our

respected principal Dr. R. N. Singh were present. Day 1st Lectures was given by

our guests for science subjects (Physics, Zoology and Botany) . Honourable V.C.

Sir gave lecture on Astronomical physics. He showed beautiful images of

universe, solar system, Black Holes and galaxies. We came to know how these

Black holes and Galaxy formed.

Honourable V.C. S. K. Panday Sir gave lecture on Astro physics

Quiz competition: In this competition P.G. students of all

department of science were participated.

In this competition Miss. Gurneet Kaur and Miss. Tripti Vaishnav

were participate from physics department.

Poster representation: Mr. Milind Ratan (M.Sc. Final) and

Miss. Pragya Thakur (M.Sc. pre.) represented their poster. In this

competition Pragya Thakur got second prize.

Debate competition: In this competition Mr. Akash Tripathi

and Miss. Seema Badghaiya (M.Sc. final Students) was participated in

debate competition. Mr. Akash Tripathi got second prize.

Special lecture on the Universe of light: On 14-02-2015 special lecture is given by a famous scientist Prof. Ajit K.

Kembhavi , director IUCCA Pune (M.H.). In this special occasion honourable

Chief guest Prof. Ajit K. Kembhavi and V.C. Dr. S.K. Pandy , Dr. Hemlata

Mohabay, our respected principal Dr. R. N. Singh , Vice- Principal Prof. Anita

Maheshwar were present.

Special lecture is given by a famous scientist Prof. Ajit K.

Kembhavi, director IUCCA Pune (M.H.). M.Sc. students of physics encouraged

this valuable lecture.
