AFC Leuven was founded in 2007 with the sole intention to
build a bridge between the academic and the business
world. Up to that point, during the education of students,
soft skills were superficially neglected. Therefore, AFC
relies on three pillars: Events, Workshops and Experience.
In its thirteenth year, Academics for Companies still strives
as an interfaculty platform to provide these soft skills. Our
maxim is “Explore, Learn, Apply”.

With a Student Consulting project, you can further develop your skills
through creative and qualitative projects for companies active in various
sectors. As a student you get the chance to get a taste of life as a consultant
during ten weeks in multidisciplinary teams of five people, by tackling a
business problem and formulating advice.
Professional guidance and an adapted short training course consisting of
several workshops will ensure that your team is able to complete the
project successfully. The result is a satisfied company with an
implementable solution and five satisfied students with improved skills. In
addition to the hard work, there is also time for fun during the various
teambuilding sessions and the members' party!

LEARN FROM
THE BEST
Throughout the 10 weeks you will be trained as a consultant through
various workshops and coaching sessions. Workshop Scope is given by our
senior partner Kearney. As leading global management consulting firm,
specialized in strategy, they are the ideal partner to start the project. We will
look at how best to start your consultancy case, how to process all
information and what the next steps are.
Workshop Presentation is given by Sia Partners, the next senior partner of
AFC. As a leading French consulting agency, they are at home in all
markets, which makes them the ideal partner to adapt your presentation
specifically to the needs of the client. You will learn how consultants
present their advice, which structure is used and how your impact
continues to resonate. Furthermore, AFC offers a diverse range of junior
and supporting partners as support, who can always be called upon for
additional questions or coaching.

Are you considering a career in consulting? Or are you simply looking for a
challenge where you can put all your knowledge and skills into practice?
Are you driven, do you want to contribute to the industry? And above all,
do you want to meet new like-minded students? Then is student
consulting the perfect cut for you!
Because your hard work should be rewarded, you can contribute your
student consulting project for ECTS credits in the following faculties. The
weekly workload is estimated to be around 8-10 hours.
BECOME PART OF
THE AFC DNA
Work as a team on a challenging case of a big name in the industry. Every year AFC works
hard to select the most interesting and impactful cases from the industry. These always
fall under one of the following themes, each one specific to the AFC DNA.
The teams are put together by measuring both the interest
and motivation of the applicants. A curriculum without re-
examinations, an excellent CV or a wide range of past AFC
workshops and events are not essential. Everyone at AFC has a
different background, the most important thing is your
motivation and your passion to make a difference.

Since 2007, AFC Leuven has been bringing innovative ideas and advice from students to
industry. Last year, the Air Products team even won the Best Project of Europe award at
JE Europe.

MAKE FRIENDS
FOR LIFE
AFC is an organization for students, by students. Of course, teambuildings,
parties and receptions should not be missed. Each team receives a
teambuilding budget and besides that there are also the member parties
and the cozy evenings after the workshops.
