This course guide will give you an overview of what our academy has to offer. Whether you are a parent looking for a place where your child can learn purposeful skills in acting, or whether you're someone looking for a practical, part-time acting course that leads to an accredited degree level qualification, we cater for every need when it comes to performance training.

Our curriculum has been designed and written by professionals who work in the industry, some of whom are regular tutors at the UK's most prestigious drama schools. Therefore, you can always be sure that your training with Oceantide Entertainments will be the most relevant, exciting and up-to-date!

That's why we offer so much more than just actor training! We introduce you to industry professionals, provide you with a free actor's headshot, help you build a professional portfolio, and of course help expose your talent by providing you with plenty opportunities to perform.

Innovative

Oceantide Entertainments is at the forefront of exploring alternative actor training methods by introducing our MASTER WORKSHOP.

This degree level course, designed for those wanting to break into acting for a career, offers you the chance to learn as part of a working theatre company.

This unique workshop is one of a kind in the UK and offers excellent training and performing opportunities.

Staff

The Oceantide Entertainments Academy Workshop brings in local & national professional practitioners to work with students on all kinds of techniques and performance styles.

All staff members are CRB checked and experienced in delivering quality workshops.

Be part of our innovative actor training programme and train professionally as part of a working theatre company! Our Master Workshop offers recognised and accredited qualifications at degree and masters level.

OverviewOur Master Workshop offers intensive actor training on a part-time basis for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Our innovative teaching methods allow students to learn the craft of an actor whilst effectively working as a professional theatre company.

Every student works towards a degree/masters level performance diploma awarded by one of the UK's most prestigious schools of performing arts, Trinity College London.

The workshop offers

students a very flexible way of learning

TutorsThe course is taught by industry professionals, all of whom are experts in their field. Many have a history of teaching at the UK's top drama schools.

Some of our tutors run their own professional theatre companies and so the course offers students networking opportunities right from day one.

Course StructureThe course is very project based. All students work together on each project but separate into assigned groups for conditioning classes.

Level 4, 6 and 7 groups are

regularly monitored by, and have access to a personal tutor at all times.

Areas of StudyAlongside working on performance projects, students will participate in regular conditioning classes which cover specific skill areas including:

Voice, Movement, An Actors Business, Singing, Physical Theatre, Stanislavski Technique, Meisner Technique, Improvisation, Theatre in Education, Audition Technique, Classical Theatre & Devising.

PerformancesStudents will participate in countless performances of varying kinds whilst on the course. These will take place at a variety of local and

national venues and locations depending on the nature of the production.

QualificationsThree levels of qualification are available at the master workshop. Each qualification comes with its own unique study duration and areas of study. All qualifications are awarded by Trinity College London. The qualifications are nationally accredited and highly respected within the industry.

The three levels of study are:Level 4 – Associate Performance Diploma(Duration of study approx 1 years)Level 6 – Licentiate Performance Diploma(Duration of study approx 3 years)Level 7 – Fellowship Performance Diploma(Duration of study approx 2 to 4 years)

Entry Requirements- Applicants must be at least 18 yrs old before they join the workshop. There is no upper age limit.- Applicants entering onto either the level 6 or 7 qualification must provide proof of previous education at the level below the one applied.

How to ApplyEntry is by audition only. Auditions are held on a regular basis.

Candidates are required to prepare one classical monologue, one contemporary monologue written after 1950 and two songs of contrasting styles.

All applicants will receive constructive feedback from their audition whether they have been successful or not.

Applicants are required to complete an application form and post it to our address complete with the audition fee. Alternatively, they can apply online.

OverviewThe senior workshop introduces students to more advanced performance skills. This workshop encourages students to connect with the world and people around them to create their own inspiring and creative theatre.

Students are introduced to key acting techniques such as those developed by Stanislavski and work on various weird and wonderful theatrical genres. We also help this group get to grip with classical text including Shakespeare.

Performances are a regular occurrence with the Senior Workshop. Many performances being those devised by the students themselves.

Entry RequirementsApplicants must be aged between 14 & 17yrs. No experience required.

How to ApplyEntry is by audition only. Auditions are held in the stye of a workshop. All resources and material will be supplied at theaudition.

OverviewBasic performance skills are taught in the Foundation & Junior Workshops. These workshops encourage students to be confident and articulate individuals.

The Junior Workshop introduces work on text, improvisation and basic stage craft. Students will become familiar with the language of theatre and start to learn basic skills in acting, singing and movement. Students learn how to interpret and perform various texts and begin to learn the basic principles of devising.

Performances, both formal and informal, are a regular occurrence for this group. All students will be given the chance to begin to work towards an accredited qualification in acting and performing arts.

Our Foundation workshops are generally run as an after school club. If your school has a commitment to the arts, why not get them to contact us so that we can arrange a Foundation workshop to be run at your school (Infants / Junior & Primary schools only)

Entry RequirementsApplicants must be aged between 11 & 13yrs for Junior Workshops. Below 11yrs for Foundation Workshops.
