SMA Solar Technology AG Product Details


1 Product DetailsThe communication distribution box, Communication Cabinet, from SMA Solar Technology serves as cabling for all communication components that are used in large-scale PV systems with Sunny Central inverters.

• The Communication Cabinet allows up to 150 participants to be connected in an Ethernet-based communication system.

• The distributor is available for both indoor and outdoor installation as well as for base and wall mounting.

• The standard distributor is equipped with protective contact plugs (e.g. for the attachment of plug-in power supply units) as well as a 230 V/24 V power supply unit; all additional components can be ordered optionally from SMA Solar Technology.

• The Communication Cabinet is supplied via an external power supply voltage. The Sunny Central inverters can be connected using CAT cables or using fiber optic cables for greater distances. The data is acquired using the optionally available WebBox.

• The data for remote monitoring is transferred using the optional selectable router. The data can be transferred wirelessly over GSM/GPRS or using a telephone connection. When transmitting via GSM/GPRS, an external GSM antenna is included with delivery.

3 Mounting the Device3.1 Mounting the Communication Cabinet (indoor version)1. Mark the position of the drill holes.

2. Drill holes at the marked points.3. Open the Communication Cabinet.4. Attach the Communication Cabinet to the wall using suitable screws and washers.5. Check that the unit is securely in place.6. Close the Communication Cabinet.☑ The Communication Cabinet is mounted on the wall.

3.2 Mounting the Communication Cabinet (outdoor version)1. Attach the enclosed mounting plates to the Communication Cabinet. You have the possibility of

fitting the mounting plates vertically or horizontally to the Communication Cabinet.2. Mark the position of the drill holes.

3. Drill holes at the marked points.4. Attach the Communication Cabinet to the wall using suitable screws and washers.5. Check that the unit is securely in place.☑ The Communication Cabinet is mounted on the wall.
