Nature of Activity: M.I.C.E. Booked Event Short Description: The Asia Pacific Stroke Conference (APSC) is an annual conference involving Stroke and its related diseases, which is held in different countries in the Asia Pacific region. It is an international meeting where experts in neuro-sciences, particularly stroke, deliver their ideas on the present and future aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders specific to the Asia Pacific region. Practitioners, researchers, and those involved in stroke diagnosis and treatment from all over the world will be the delegates/main attendees of this conference. The Stroke Society of the Philippines (SSP) hosted the Asia Pacific Stroke Conference 2019 (APSC 2019 Manila), expected to be attended by a minimum of 600 participants. The conference coincided with the celebration of “World Stroke Day” on 06 October 2019, during which a “Fun Run for Stroke Awareness” was participated in by the delegates of the conference, and other allied company representatives. Its goal is to give Filipino musicians a platform to share & improve their craft, connect the local music community with each other & the world, and elevate the Philippine music industry. The 2-day international music business conference and festival was designed to merge the creative & business sides of music in the Philippines, to bridge the gaps within the music community, and promote Philippine music around the world. (PACEOS), accepted the invitation of the Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations (AFECA) for the Philippines’ hosting of its 14th Annual General Meetings (AGM) on 08-12 October 2019 in Manila. The Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations (AFECA) is the umbrella association of national MICE associations/ organizations from seven countries: China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. Their main goal is to help develop and grow the MICE industry in the region. AFECA has over 131 members, covering 17 nations/regions in Asia. The Philippine Association of Convention/Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers, Inc. (PACEOS), established in 1981, is a non-profit association composed of professional event/exhibition/ convention organizers and their partners in business – venue owners, booth contractors, freight forwarders,

TPB was requested to sponsor performers, specifically during the formal Welcome Dinner at The Peninsula Manila Hotel on 24 October 2019 (Thursday), 7:00pm. However, in view of the time & financial constraints, the TPB coordinated instead with the DOT/DOT Regional Offices that will be bringing performers to Manila in connection with PHITEX/MICECONnect 2019, which was scheduled around the same dates (19-28 October 2019) for FOC performers. With the help of Usec. Art Boncato, TPB was able to refer the PRC to the DOT-Region VIII office, in particular, and arranged a complimentary cultural show/entertainment by the Leyte Kalipayan dancers/performers during the said PRC dinner function.

The International Mask Arts and Culture Organization (IMACO) is composed of more than 131 individual and group organizations from some 63 countries in Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and Oceania. It is based in the South Korean city of Andong, which has sisterhood ties with Bacolod because of its MassKara Festival. The biennial IMACO International Conference is a cluster of international festivals that highlights the mask culture and tradition of 56 countries. Designed to preserve the mask arts and provide an opportunity for representatives all over the world to unite and share various cultural values and information, the IMACO conference is supported by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Cultural Heritage Administration of the Republic of Korea, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and Andong City. With the theme “Inside and Outside of Mask Culture: Masks, Practice, and Culture” the 4-day conference in Bacolod City, the 7th since 2006, included various activities such as Mask & Art Road Performance, a World Mask Exhibition, Policy Forum, General Assembly, Academic Symposium, and special performances and tours. TPB provided airport meet-and-greet in Manila for all the foreign delegates, en route to their respective connecting flights to Bacolod.

Booked Event Short Description: The main organizers of this event are from the National Institutes of Health, specifically the Institute of Human Genetics of the University of the Philippines (UP), Manila, through Dra. Eva Maria de Ia Paz, who approached the TPB in 2017 to seek assistance regarding their intent to bid for the hosting of the 2019 APCHG in Manila. Arnold Gonzales, then Officer-in-Charge of the TPB, and Raquel Tria of the MICE Department, met with Dra. De La Paz. She was provided with photos & videos on the Philippines, as well as corporate giveaways, which they used during their bid pitch at the 12th APCHG in Bangkok,Thailand on 06-09 November 2017, where the Philippines was chosen as the next host of APCHG. The Philippines is one of the Founding Members of the APSHG, along with Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan (ROC) and Thailand. It is registered in Singapore since February 2006 & was accepted as Full Member of the International Federation of Human Genetics Societies (IFHGS) on the same year in Brisbane, Australia. The members of the Society include scientists, clinical geneticists, genetic counselors, researchers, faculty and students. With the overall conference theme of “Advancing Translational Medicine and Collaborations in Genomics,” APCHG 2019 Manila convene an

The 5th ASEAN – Russia Youth Summit, with the theme “Enhancing People to People Connectivity between ASEAN and Russia”, gathered youth leaders, officials and representatives from ASEAN Member States, the Russian Federation, and the ASEAN Secretariat. The Summit was aimed at promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between the youth of ASEAN Member States and Russia through various discussions and activities. The previous editions of the Summits tackled key trends and issues related to cooperation between ASEAN Member States and Russia in terms of economic, political-security and socio-cultural areas with emphasis on Russia-ASEAN multi-dimensional connectivity. Participants of the Summit visited Fort Santiago and other tourist attractions in Intramuros. Some activities of the Summit were held at the ASEAN Center of the University of the Philippines in Diliman. They likewise had a courtesy visit with President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacanang. • Provision of tokens for IDPA officials and speakers • Provision of tourism brochures and giveaways for delegates • Airport reception and facilitation • Endorsement to concerned government offices, if required The PSDBP, organizer of the event, was requested to deliver the following in exchange of TPB's assistance: · Ensure attendance of at least 144 foreign participants or 90% of 160 target number of foreign attendees • Project Philippine tourism videos throughout the event, whenever possible • Acknowledge the TPB as Sponsor through inclusion of the TPB and “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” logos in the event materials such as printed programme, sponsors wall and live announcements • Encourage the delegates to use the hashtags “#ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines” and “#tpbgovph” on their social media accounts pertaining to the Conference and their Philippine experience • Submit a brief report of the event together with the list of foreign and local participants and other supporting documents, such as, but not limited to event printed materials, photos and videos Amongst the travel agencies referred by the TPB to PSDBP, Sharp Travel Service agreed to send a representative at the Congress Information Counter
