A young team that built the world's lightest & first 3D printed
satellite, 'KalamSat', launched by NASA on 22nd
June, was
felicitated by a social group in Chennai, the next day. The
KalamSat team • led by Rifath Sharook, an 18-year-old
student from Tamil Nadu - built the 3.8 ems cube satellite
(Femto category} weighing 64 gms, named after the late
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam .

Ericsson has released Ericsson Mobility Report 2017, India
Annexure. As per the report, the data traffic per Smartphone
user in India will grow to 11 GB/month by 2022 while the total
mobile data traffic is expected to grow at a CAGR of 40%,
reaching up to 8 Exabytes data/month.
By the year 2022, 97% of data traffic will be Smart phone oriented.

Engineers develop new technology
for slimmer smartphone cameras
To make smartphones slimmer, a group of engineers has
developed a new camera design that replaces the lenses with
an ultra-thin Optical Phased Array (OPA). The OPA
computationally manipulates incoming light to capture an
image - exactly what lenses do using large pieces of glass.

Petya: Symantec
India has been the worst hit country in the Asia Pacific region
and the seventh most impacted nation worldwide by the
Petya ransomware, according to cybersecurity service
provider Symantec. The Petya ransomware was the 2nd
biggest cyberattac:k after WannaCry. It shuts down the system
after the infection and asks for ransom of $300 in bitcoins on
rebooting.

The novel solution by the start-up venture of Mohamed
Jasim and Muhammed Sadique, Traffitizer Technologies Pvt.
Ltd. will soon be set up at the junctions. Their Traffitizer
Emergency Response System (T-ERS) is a Centralized
Internet of Things (loT) based system with artificial
intelligence at different levels. This has a hardware
software module that can be connected to the traffic
control system at any traffic junction.
