Field Trip to Nehru Planetarium (Discovery of Life section to explore Early life of Stone Age man)
Objectives – Exploring Life of Early Man
In early days, human life was very hard. They spent their life in caves, wrapped animal skin and tree
leaves over their body and hunted animals for food. The students of Grade II were taken to Nehru
Planetarium to the discovery of Life Section. They discovered how they lived a nomadic life with the
bare means of survival. A life like depiction was created where the children walked through a cave and
explored what they did, ate and how they stayed.
Pots, man made huts made out of stick and covered with leaves and weapons made out of stones were
displayed.
Queries from students
What food did they eat?
How did they make weapons from stones?
What did they make of pots?

The students of Grade II were introduced to the topic by inviting a Stranger to interact with them (a
person known to the school of course!)
The children were reminded of the fact that he was a stranger to them whom they are not supposed
to acknowledge. Ms Aarti the Life skills teacher in the primary department highlighted the points on
keeping away from strangers.
Students were repeatedly told and convinced not to interact / trust any unfamiliar person.

reer path guided by the ophthalmic surgeon. The session took about an hour and half that created a mem-
orable experience for our students.
