Dear All,

discussing globalization activities in our environment normally ends up with two interesting questions: To what extent we can achieve standardized business processes and IT landscapes, and where are country specifi c deviations mandatory or allowed. As additional dimension operating processes and systems have to be set up fl exibly and effi ciently to enable growth and inherit changes of a large or mid-size companies in international competition. Main evident differentiators from market perspective are product- and services portfolio, nevertheless in a dynamic changing world a strong enabler for success is the management of processes, projects, networks and business relations within the global area – and: to what extent information technology today understands how to integrate these requirements into a ‘best practice’ Business Process and IT landscape.

3rd SAP GLOBALIZATION SYMPOSIUM 2008 The Motto: Join the Global SAP User Group and SAP Globalization Partnership to exchange and network your Global SAP Program

Running Global implementation smooth implies knowledge and description of existing processes including the datafl ow. Moreover without a clear strategically direction on degree of standardization, process alignment and systematic IT landscape adjustment, targets can not be met with the result of limited deliveries and related cost implication.

Refl ecting those challenges there are many factors to be considered from the fi rst idea to deployment to the support of a Global SAP environment, share them together with us on October 20th and 21st 2008 in Salzburg / Austria. Experienced members of the Globalization Steering Committee (GSC), a community composed by different national SAP User Groups and SAP Globalization Services, will together with business and IT representatives guide you through lessons learned and practice discussions.

The agenda of the event focus on strategic topics in large and mid-size enterprises. Operating topics out of the daily life of a global acting Project Manager, IT specialists or members of functional involved areas will be covered. In their tracks specialists discuss the role of IT technologies in a global world and share their experience on SAP Globalization Projects. The Deutsch-sprachige SAP-Anwendergruppe (DSAG - German-Speaking SAP User Group), hosting the event, is pleased to offer you the great possibility of exchanging information across the borders and establishing networks during this Symposium. Use this opportunity to gather exclusive information and valuable suggestions for your company.

We look forward to welcoming you in Salzburg.
