Researchers will need to seek approval before being able to access more sensitive materials. Unless attributed the photographs are from the resources of the AJBCC and JABCC. The quality of the archived material re�lects the commitment to the furtherance of the bilateral relationship by past Presidents, Executive Committees and the AJBCC membership and of their JABCC counterparts. The foresight and courage of those bureaucrats and politicians of the mid-�ifties whom envisaged and negotiated the Australia-Japan Agreement on Commerce of 1957 have been maintained over subsequent decades by the . s l a i c i f f o c i l b u p f o s r e b m u n l a i t n a t s b u s f o s r o v a e d n e Ambassadors, Embassy staff, desk of�icers from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade and other Ministries, and their Japanese counterparts. Given the almost negligible command of Nihongo held by the present and past AJBCC secretariats, the patience and cooperation of the counterpart JABCC secretariats have been greatly appreciated.
