CARNATION SALE THIS WEEK To celebrate Mother's Day, the
Respect for Life organization willsponsor a Carnation Sale before andafter the Masses on Saturday andSunday THIS WEEKEND. A donation
of $1.00 was asked to cover the cost of the carnation.
TABERNACLE CANDLEWe are lighting the tabernacle
candle this week in loving memory of theanniversary of the passing of Eleanor
Pedriani on May 10th, from her devoted daughters,Louisa & Celia and granddaughter, Patty!

UNITED METHODIST BREAKFASTThe Black Creek United
Methodist Church will hold its monthly
after-church breakfast on Sunday, May
8th from 11A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The menu
includes pancakes, bacon, sausage,
home fries, quiche, french toast casserole, fruit cup,
toast and muffins, orange juice, coffee and tea. The
cost is a donation and all proceeds are used to help
families in the area. If you know a family in need,
please contact the church at 570-384-4087!
MEMORIAL DAY MASSFollowing the traditions of our
parish, Mass on Monday, May 30th, will be
10:00 A.M. at our parish cemetery,
celebrating Memorial Day. IN THE EVENT
OF RAIN, THE MASS WILL BE AT
SACRED HEART CHURCH!
CCC COLLECTIONThe annual collection for the
C A T H O L I C C O M M U N I C A T I O N S
CAMPAIGN will be THIS WEEKEND, MAY
7th & 8th.
As Catholics, we have a responsibility to reach
the hearts of people and share the gospel. Your
generous gift will help the CCC and our parish to
provide television, radio and printed materials that
communicate this simple yet profound message to all!
INVITATION TO FEED THE HUNGRYThe Hazleton Shelter Project is
a pilot project subsidized by the Diocese
of Scranton, the United Way, and
donations from local parishes to meet
the needs of the homeless in Hazleton.
In addition to sheltering the homeless,
guests also are served an evening meal and breakfast.
Guests arrive and register at 7 pm at Catholic Social
Services, Sunday through Saturday, and after dinner,
go across the street to the YMCA/YWCA for the
evening and night. After breakfast, they leave the
shelter by 8 am. The project is scheduled to continue
until the last week of May. To volunteer to help in
providing the evening meal, contact Judy Hall at 570-
384-2256.
