DESCRIPTION
ACS Press Pack
Citation preview
Air Charter Service (ACS) is a world-leader in arranging aircraft charters,
providing helicopters, private jets, commercial airliners and cargo aircraft to an
array of clients. ACS is purely a charter broker who procures aircraft charters
and leases on behalf of our clients - we do not own any aircraft.
We are frequently asked to comment on the aviation industry, given that we
offer a relatively neutral view as we are not an airline with our own products/
aircraft to promote.
Our business is affected by any changes in the market, giving us insight into
trends and news before becoming public knowledge.
This pack aims to give you an insight into what Air Charter Service do, and how
our employee’s knowledge and experience may be of use to you should you
require information or comment on any topic within the aviation industry.
INTRODUCTION
HOw ACS IS INvOlvED
ACS works with virtually every airline
and aircraft operator.
Our employees have to be experts on
all current regulations in order to advise
our clients correctly.
ACS provides alternative travel for both
individuals and airlines during industrial
strikes. Examples include the recent BA
and Qantas strikes.
ACS charters aircraft to transport
people and aid in response to natural
disasters, such as the 2011 Japan
Earthquake and often has personnel on
the ground who could provide a first-
hand account of events.
ACS charters aircraft to assist
governments and businesses in
evacuating personnel from danger
zones, such as Libya, Tunisia and Egypt
in 2011.
ACS, like the rest of the industry, is
affected by extreme weather, but also
provides solutions to individuals, airlines
and the cargo industry to help reduce
the effects. Examples include heavy
snowfall, fog and ash clouds.
ACS charters more than 2,500 private
jets every year and therefore has an
in-depth knowledge of who is using
private jets and for what purpose.
ACS charters private jets and
commercial airliners for individuals,
teams, travel agents and private jets for
individuals to large scale events such as
the Champions’ League, Euro 2012 &
the Olympics.

AIR CHARTER SERvICE? ACS deals with every aspect of the
aviation industry - relying on keeping up
to date with changes, trends and events, in
order to operate successfully as a business
ACS can comment without bias – we are
unlike an airline or airport in that our business
does not rely on fixed routes, specific
airports and so on and we have no public
shareholders
ACS has a broad overview of the industry
- as opposed to an airline who can generally
only comment on demand for its particular
product/aircraft
ACS’s directors have more than 200 years
combined experience.
ACS’s global network of offices allows us
to comment on local and world events
Air Charter Service was founded in a Kingston basement in 1990
by Chris Leach, with just a phone, a fax machine and a handful
of industry contacts. Two decades later, ACS has annual revenue
of more than £275million, offices on 5 continents, 250 staff
worldwide and now arranges more than 6,000 charters a year.
Over those 20 plus years, the company and its staff have been
involved in numerous world-shaping events; from evacuating
people away from the recent political upheavals in Libya, Tunisia
and Egypt to providing air cargo transport to help those affected
by humanitarian disasters in Somalia, Japan and haiti, as well as
numerous other worldwide occurrences.
The company’s 16 global offices allow ACS to provide journalists
with information on regional events using local sources, as well
as unbiased and comprehensive commentary on global events.
