ENGLISH II

INTRODUCTION
This work corresponds to the activity of writing assignment English II, the development of
this activity allows the student to follow the process of evaluation course structure, which is
designed to articulate and sequentially so as to fasten their building knowledge, through the
group construction of an English text in which the activities or actions with make a typical
dish and all ingredients use in the kitchen, each of the members of the collaborative group is
exposed their opinions and contribute to complete the final activity, all this using and
applying the knowledge acquired during different course development .
The development of activities that allow create and generate motivation in the UNAD
student, allowing to strengthen their skills in dominate techniques and processes that lead him
to be a professional comprehensive and competent.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Generate the necessary competencies and skills from the performance of the activity by
which delves into the issue of application of the studied subject, conducting and concept
developments required for future implementation in practice.
Specific Objectives.
Perform proper documentation regarding the contents and thematic proposal to write the
document requested.
Analyze the acquired information and translate it according to the requirements of the
guide.
Conduct development activities guide concerning the work of learning the writing
assignment activity.
Interpret information, so that its analysis allows to generate adequate writing skills
concerning the English language.
Generate significant learning from the development of the activity.

DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY
BANDEJA PAISA TYPICAL DISH OF ANTIOQUA, COLOMBIA

Introduction
Bandeja Paisa is a typical dish of many places in Colombia, specially of the Antioqua region, but also is cooked frequently in the Old Caldas and Coffe region, it has become recognized as traditional and which is consumed in many parts of the country.
Is a dish very special because use many ingredients, which makes striking and challenging
for most people. While it is good to clarify that for the same amount of ingredients used, not
served in the same way everywhere, there have been several changes depending on the
specific tastes of each client.
One of the main reasons why the dish is so recognized is the culture of the region from which
it originates, as they are people with great gift of speech, persuasive and who know how to
sell different things, is a very common virtue coined the "Paisas", a title that has been given
to people born in this region, the word can say it is a diminutive of the word citizen.
Although it is a delicious dish, it's good not to use it as often as the many ingredients together
can bring about changes in health, so it is good to eat with moderation, without excesses but
enjoy it whenever possible.

PROCESS OF PREPARATION
Process to prepare the recipe:
1. Put the beans in water the night before cooking, prepare hogao or stew.
2. For rice first put it in a pot over low heat to warm the pot, then adds a little oil. Then take
the chop green onions on a table very well and invert the pan with oil, adds salt after her like
warm it a little onion, and let the water boil, while the water wash the rice well and then
cover it, the rice and let it grow until the grain and low heat.
3. Cook the beans in the same water with half oil, after, when they are soft adds salt. In the
same time, saut the ground beef in oil over medium high heat, add half the hogao or stew
and stir very well.
4. Cut into small pieces the pork belly, and put in oil to fry. Mix everything and cook in a
frying pan for 10 minutes.
5. When beans are tender, add the remaining stew or hogao, cook for 5 10 more minutes.
6. Then, in a skillet, put oil for frying plantains, eggs and cooked chorizos.
7. Serve all cooked and fried in each dish, and accompany with avocado, and lemon for the
chorizo and the fried pork belly.
Note: Arepas: In a bowl large enough to amass, put the commeal. On flour adds oil. Throw
in salt water, pour and mix until a stiff dough. Make dough ball in your hand and flatten with
your two hands to give you a plump shape. Then in a pan with little oil, arepas handle until
both sides are golden.

When do people in the region eat this plate?
This region is very common eating this dish, almost every day is consumed, being typical has
been established as a major feature of the region, also is a tradition that has gone from
generation to generation, so it is difficult it stops using.
Also this dish that symbolizes the cuisine of a region, it represent a culture and corresponds
to the common diet and in some ocassional cases for those who prefer consumed at
lunchtime, in typical family or friends lunch.
Furthermore if not consumed in its entirety, is at least very frequently found in this region
lunches beans, the main ingredient of "Bandeja Paisa".
What drinks go well with that plate?
The drink tastes varies, for some people a good drink to accompany this dish are sodas,
because quite cool after consumption of all the ingredients of the "Bandeja Paisa", but other
people prefer lemonade or some juice in water.
What did you learn as a group about this activity?

It is interesting to work together to form a work dealing Colombian elements of our culture
and at the same time gives us the opportunity to express in another language other than
Castilian.

Antioqua, to interact with fellow students in a very united way and dedicated.

As a result of this activity in group I learned the importance of taking into account the
findings of others, also you learn to use all the skills that are being studied in the field in
situations of daily life, being an innovative model of learning and easier, as it learns more
familiar themes, generate availability of experiential learning.
I look forward to contributing to the development of this work and my classmates are
motivated to participate more frequently in the development of the final work.

I learnt to socialize and work together, listening to the best ideas from each one to have a
very good job. Also working group in this activity we can find different variety of typical
plates, which are in our country and why this has the best elements, seasoning in their region,
in order to determine front of others the best typical dish of our country.

CONCLUSIONS
By performing the activity it occurred significant knowledge, from which skills are
generated with respect to the conceptualization of the topics in the activity.
Effective recognition of the components and theme of the course and the applications
in daily life.
It managed to make all of the requirements of the guide generating significant
learning from the development of the activity.
The interacted properly generating increase of vocabulary from reading the
contributions in the forum.
