WHAT IS MY DREAM? ITS A DIFFICULT QUESTION, FIRST COMES WHAT AM I INTERESTED IN?

Private Equity What is it? Well in technical terms it means:

Private equity investments are primarily made by private equity firms, venture capital firms, or angel investors, each with their own set of goals, preferences, and investment strategies, yet each providing working capital to a target company to nurture expansion, new product development, or restructuring of the company’s operations, management, or ownership.

In simple words it means investing a company which is not doing to great and then turning it in a huge profit making firm by setting various goals and achieving them

SO WHAT’S MY DREAM?

To have a business of my own. Well a lot of you might have a same

dream. Now the question is what you do to

achieve it? During an interaction with a CEO of

company back in India, I learnt a lot of people are not able to setup a business of there own because they fail to get investment for their ideas. Its easier to get a business idea than actually getting a group of investors interested in your idea and to prove them that you would make them earn high profits.

WHAT I LEARNT IN 8 HOURS?

Being an engineer we generally stay away from the financial markets and fail to show our strength in areas of marketing and entrepreneurship skills and awareness of investment banking.

I have a question for all of you; how do you plan on convincing a investment firm to invest a lot of money in your business idea, if you don’t have any prior experience of running a company or a firm. Why would they invest in you if they know that you have never run a company and know nothing about it; other than you idea.

THE REASON I CHOSE PRIVATE EQUITY.

To get a hands on experience of running a company and turning it in huge profits to prove myself in front of investors that I am worthy of running an industry of my own.

During my 8 hours I contacted a private equity firm named: Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. It is 60 billion dollar company which has completed transactions worth $400 billion in area of private equity.

I contacted a private equity manager there and showed him my interest in getting an experience in this field while working with them; I am waiting on their reply.

MY FUTURE

I hope I get an experience; then in future if I have a business idea it would be easy for me to get investors agree to invest in me.

Who knows, I might be running a private equity firm of my own 10 years from now because that interests me.
