Company Profile
Beijing Telestone Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Telestone”)
was established in 1997, with headquarter in the Fengtai Park of Beijing
Zhongguancun and a registered capital of USD 10 million. We are a state-level
high-tech company focusing on the research, development, and the
application of wireless communication technology. In 2004, Telestone was
listed on NASDAQ. Currently, we have more than 800 staff, achieve an annual
sale of approximately USD 40 million, and have ranked among China's top 50
telecommunication enterprises. Inside our company, there are two
wholly-funded subsidiaries, Telestone Wireless Communication (Beijing) Co.,

1. RF repeater
1.1 RF Co-frequency Repeater Overview
Due to variant natural factors and human factors, the electric wave will meet
barriers or be shielded in the transmission process in the places far away from
base stations such as the large-median enterprises far away from towns and
urban districts, subways, tunnels and mountainous marshlands. In central
urban areas, blind spots for mobile phones appeared due to the isolated island
phenomenon in strong shielded buildings like basements and large business
buildings where the handset signal is weak and unstable. There are varied
means to solve those problem. But the most convenient, fast and the
economical means is to deploy repeaters.
Wireless co-frequency repeaters work bi-directionally and coordinate with
cellular systems. Repeaters retransmit the signal from cellular base stations to
mobile stations after magnifying it. Meanwhile, it retransmits the signal from
mobile stations to cellular base stations after magnifying the signal. The
repeaters work as relay stations between base stations and mobile stations.
The so-called co-frequency refers to the signal frequency from donor antennas
is identical to the signal frequency from service antennas. The co-frequency
repeaters with high gain demand high isolation between donor antennas and
retransmission antennas which should be fully considered when they are
installed. As a result of the high isolation, retransmission antenna should adopt
directional radiation.

Product Introduction
Telestone has independently developed variant kinds of wireless co-frequency
repeaters that can meet any sorts of project requirements. This co-frequency
repeaters series has two categories, namely band selective repeaters and
channel selective repeaters, with each providing different power to meet
different coverage requests. Band selective repeaters include the below
models: 10MW, 50MW, 100MW, 200MW, 0.5W, 1W, 2W, 5W, 10W, 20W;
Channel selective repeaters include the following models: 0.5W, 1W, 2W, 5W,
10W, 20W.

Network Grouping
The network grouping of wireless co-frequency repeaters are relatively easy to
other repeaters. Its sites are required to be checked carefully due to the high
isolation requirement between donor antennas and server antennas. The

2. Fiber optic repeater
2.1 Fiber Optic Repeater Overview
As mobile communication technology changes everyday, Telecom markets
become increasingly competitive and customers unceasingly demand higher
quality network service. Facing with market competition and customers’
requirement of network quality, carriers has enlarged network investment in
abundance to improve network quality. To construct repeaters is an efficient
cost-saving means to enlarge network coverage areas and enhance network
quality. According to signal transmission ways, repeaters can be divided into
wireless repeaters, frequency shift repeaters and optical fiber repeaters.
Wireless repeaters and frequency shift repeaters enlarge base station
coverage area by amplifying wireless signal received from air. The biggest
difference between optic fiber repeaters and wireless repeaters is their signal
transmission ways of between base station and repeater. Optic fiber repeaters
transmit signals by optical fiber when wireless repeaters transmit signals by air.
Therefore, optic fiber repeaters have following advantages:
(1)stable work and good coverage effect.
Because optic fiber repeaters transmit signals through optical fibers that are
not affected by geographical environment, weather change or the adjustment
of donor base station coverage range, optic fiber repeaters work stably and
have good coverage effect.
(2)more flexible design and construction.
Based on working principle of wireless repeaters, wireless repeaters require
donor antennas to be installed in the place where can receive signals and the
intensity of received signal is larger than -80dBm. Therefore, wireless
repeaters can only be installed on the edge of base station coverage scope.
They extend coverage areas at the base station coverage direction. At the
same time, in order to prevent self-excitation of repeaters, enough isolation

between donor antennas and coverage antennas must be guaranteed.
Therefore, the installation location and ways of wireless repeaters are limited.
In addition, directional antennas are usually adopted to transmit signals when
wireless repeaters are used, and the coverage area is small. Contrary to
wireless signals, it is not necessary to consider the installation location and
ways, the self-excitation phenomenon when optic fiber repeaters are used.
Omni directional antennas or directional antennas can be used according to
the coverage requirement.

Network Grouping
Telestone optical fiber repeater distribution system includes two connection
ways: point-to-point connection and point-multipoint connection.
Point-multipoint connection is divided into star connection and cascade
connection. The various connection ways is for different types of fiber optic
repeater distribution networks that could be used for providing flexible, reliable
signal coverage solutions in the areas that other indoor or outdoor wireless
repeaters can not cover such as remote villages and towns, mountainous
areas, freeways, airports, disperse buildings and subways.

the location of Base station is getting lower; on the other hand, with the
development of municipal construction the high rise emerges in our life, so
there are many signal blind spots behind the high rise or in the mezzanine
which results in the shadowing effects. Furthermore, in order to avoid the
interference of adjacent cells the down tilt of the antenna main lobe is big so
that the higher part of buildings cannot receive signal efficiently. Last but not
least, the building can block the signal transmission so the tunnel,
underground, underground parking and mall, office building and hotel can be
signal blind spots.
The micro repeater is a kind of equipment which can make up the coverage
shortcoming of mobile communication networks and enlarge the coverage
area of Base station and fill up the signal blind spots efficiently. The design of
product is based on the full-duplex, external power, easy to installation, high
reliability and so on. The operating frequency covers many mobile
communication systems such as: GSM900、CDMA800/DCS1800,etc. The
digital and analog systems are also compatible.

Network Grouping
For the micro repeater system, it consists of main amplifier, donor antenna,
server antenna and IBS. The donor antenna aims at the donor Base station;
the BS port of micro repeater is connected to the donor antenna and the MS’s
port is connected to the indoor IBS. Shown as the following figure, firstly using
the splitter to separate the indoor signal source transmitted by the micro
repeater; secondly the coupler is used to assign the signal and make sure the
power distribution ratio of coupler equals the transmission loss of two antennas
so that the two antennas can obtain the same power (the use of splitter and
coupler is flexible). One important thing is that the isolation between donor and
server antenna must be 15dB higher than the gain. The system should meet
the requirement of C/I≥15dB of GSM/CDMA/DCS/PCS systems.

4. Frequency shift repeater
4.1 Frequency shift repeater overview
Due to the influence of natural factors and the human factors, the electric wave
will meet the barrier or it will be shielded in the transmission process in the
places far away from the base stations like the big and medium enterprises far
away from the towns and the urban districts, the subway, the tunnel,
mountainous marsh lands and so on. In the city central areas, the weak and
unstable handset signal of user in the strong shield building (for example
basement and so on) and in the high-rise due to the isolated island
phenomenon of the large business buildings creates the blind spots for the
mobile phones. There are many and varied means to solve this kind of
question. But the most convenient, fast and the economical means is to deploy
repeaters.
In the mobile communication network, the blind spot in the cellular mobile
communication system inevitably appears where some base station signal
does not arrive frequently due to the limit of terrain and transmission condition.
The co-frequency repeaters (usually called “repeater” for short) are often used
in the ordinary circumstances to carry on the directional radiation in the region
where needs to be covered with signal to eliminates the blind spots or extends
the service range of the base station. As a result of the technical reasons, the
conventional co-frequency repeater has following several problems:
The signal interference often occurs because the co-frequency repeater can
frequently receive signal from many base stations. When two base stations are
close to each other, especially under the circumstances that the existing GSM
base station usually share a base station with CDMA system, the two
frequency interval is very small and it is common that the G net co-frequency
repeater interferes the G net and the C net base station to cause high drop call

rates and noise; The frequency repeater with high gain demands high isolation
between the donor antenna and the retransmission antenna which is hard to
be realized when they are installed on the spot, specially on the level terrain;
Retransmission antenna is only able to use the directional radiation and the
station site requests to be located in the edge of the coverage area which does
not only brings the difficulty for the selection of the location, but also influence
the coverage scope and service quality;
In many situations, the co-frequency repeater is unable to be installed because
it is unable to find the station sites with enough signal strength in the blind spot
edge needed to be covered.
However, the above problems could be solved well with the application of
frequency shift repeater. It is not subject to the terrain limit, the distance
between the regions needed to be covered and the donor base station may be
far and the network construction is flexible. The isolation issue between the
donor antenna and the service antenna can be the avoided, with easier
network construction. By the application of the frequency shift repeater, omni
antenna can be used as service antenna to increase the coverage scope.
Product Introduction
Telestone has independently researched and developed all categories of shift
frequency transmission repeaters, which can meet any kinds of project
requirements. This frequency shift master repeater series has two categories,
namely the base station coupling and the airborne coupling. The variant kinds
of master repeaters and slave repeaters have any kinds of models to meet the
demands of variant user and adapt different coverage request: master: 2W,
5W, 10W; slave: 2W, 5W, 10W, 20W.

Network Grouping
The frequency shift repeater is composed of the input terminal machine and
the coverage extension telephone. There are two kinds of connection ways
between the input terminal machine and the donor base station, namely base
station conductive coupling and airborne wireless access. Regarding the
conductive coupling, the base station signal source is connected with the
master machine through the directional coupler with high power. Speaking of
the airborne coupling, the donor antenna of the master repeater is used to
select the signal source from the base station. Then directional requirement of

6. Tower mounted Amplifier
Telestone Tower Mounted Amplifier (TMA) is a cost-effective solution for
enhancing wireless networks coverage. Telestone comprehensive TMA
solutions for 800/900/1800/2100MHz wireless networks provide uplink
amplification, supporting both uplink and downlink channels. With high
performance, low-noise amplifiers built-in, TMA solutions can create network
link balance and improve the receiving sensitivity of base station.
TMA is installed underneath the receiving antenna to improve the UL sensitivity
and amplify the weak signal from the MS. Then the amplified signal is
transmitted to the base station receiver. The output of every carrier is the input
of base station amplifier which is located in the machine room. Then the
signals are combined and transmitted by the duplex antenna.

7. Tower Mounted Booster
7.1 Production overview
Dedicated to the radio signal coverage of GSM Network, there is always
obvious contradiction between coverage and capacity. On the one hand,
network has superfluous system capacity but low coverage range makes rural
open areas, where deploy single carrier and high antenna BS, cost more
investment for operators, On the other hand, high antenna brings on high radio
signal feeder transmitting loss and output power waste. If operator would
enlarge the coverage range of BS and BS implements multi-carriers
applications, the application of TMB will reduce the unnecessary cost of BS
investments.
For the coverage extension system of GSM BS, we provide Tower Mounted
Booster (TMB) for GSM system which can improve the downlink output power
and uplink receiving sensitivity. TMB is one of best serial coverage extension
product for digital cell system. It has full duplex linear power amplifier in uplink,
comprised of uplink LNA (low noise amplifier) which increases the gain of
uplink signal and makes base station getting higher receiving sensitivity; and in
downlink high gain power amplifier which amplify the downlink signal then
transmit the signal to antenna through RF feeder cable, which will enlarge the
BS coverage range at same time.
TMB will enlarge the coverage range by 2-4 times. Product characteristics:

8. Base Station Amplifier
8.1 Production overview
Along with the increasing level of communication consumption , the
requirement of mobile communication is increasing day by day, and the
requirement of high quality communication become more and more complex,
which request the Operator to improve the communication networks quality,
expand the coverage area. How to improve the mobile network quality and
extend coverage area is becoming an important task. If simply increased the
amount of the expensive station, it can only lead to running cost increasing,
especially in the area with no heavy speech traffic and that will make a serious
disadvantage of the competition of the operator. Station coverage extension
system can solve this matter of extreme urgency. The one hand ,it can reduce
the amount of the in-building stations, on the other hand ,it can extend the
coverage area of the stations while used in the fixed stations consequently
improve the QoS of the networks and raise the satisfaction of clients.
Station coverage extension system is consist of base station power amplifier,
tower amplifier and other power supplying system .This system through fixing
high-power super linear frequency selective power amplifier in the base station
to amplify the down-link signal, strengthen the signals’ penetrability to the
obstacle to realize the purpose of extending the coverage area, and also
realize the purpose of reducing the up-link noise of the station ,increasing the
up-link gain, improving the receiving capability of the station through fixing the
tower amplifier in front of the receiving system which works with base station
power amplifier to raise the sensitivity of up-link signals’ receiving and solve
the imbalance of up-link and down-link transmission.
Base Station power amplifier is a linear amplifier fixed on the station which
consists of high-power linear power amplifier, high-performance duplexer,
power source and supervisory equipment. The base station amplifier fixes in
the base station, every carrier frequency’s output of station connects with the
station amplifier input unit ,after being amplified ,every carrier frequency will be
mixed out putted and access to the transmitting antenna through RF cable.

The station power source of DC-48v or AC 220V could be put to use as station
power amplifier power source. BPA is mainly used in:extending station
coverage area, effectively increasing the speech traffic in one district;
strengthening the station transmitting power, reducing the mobile phone
transmitting power,improving the electromagnetism environment;improving
the power level of station down-link,improving the quality of network; reducing
the construction of station,saving the investment expenses.
