Active Release Techniques is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/ movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, liga- ments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be re- solved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of Acute conditions (pulls, tears, colli- sions, etc) Accumulation of small tears (micro- trauma) not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia) Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numb- ness, and weakness. AiM: Anatomy in Motion informs practitioners and patients of the importance of the foot in human locomotion. Foot and whole body exercises quickly result in long term & per- manent changes that reduce pain and in- crease performance. NKT: Neurokinetic therapy uses manual muscle testing to assess where muscular inhibition occurs and aids in finding the root cause of pain or poor performance. P-DTR: Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex pro- vides a comprehensive understanding of human neurology and provides quick and immediate fixes to the "software" of the hu- man body. Athletic Taping: Sensory receptors in the skin provide the brain with information about the environ- ment that directs movement. Sometimes the information the brain is receiving is in- correct, and tape can help reinforce the correct movements.

  • Active Release Techniques is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, liga-ments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be re-solved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of

Acute conditions (pulls, tears, colli-sions, etc)

    Accumulation of small tears (micro-trauma)

    not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia)

Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numb-ness, and weakness.

    AiM:

    Anatomy in Motion informs practitioners

and patients of the importance of the foot in

human locomotion. Foot and whole body

exercises quickly result in long term & per-

manent changes that reduce pain and in-

    crease performance.

    NKT:

    Neurokinetic therapy uses manual muscle

testing to assess where muscular inhibition

occurs and aids in finding the root cause of

    pain or poor performance.

    P-DTR:

    Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex pro-

    vides a comprehensive understanding of

human neurology and provides quick and

immediate fixes to the "software" of the hu-

    man body.

    Athletic Taping:

Sensory receptors in the skin provide the

brain with information about the environ-

    ment that directs movement. Sometimes

the information the brain is receiving is in-

correct, and tape can help reinforce the

    correct movements.

  • Julian Corwin graduated from Cal Poly, with a de-gree in Electrical Engineering. After a few years working at Agilent Technologies in Santa Rosa, he began discovering his new passion: the human body. A few years later he experienced the pro-found healing power of Active Release Techniques (ART) and left his engineering career to pursue his passion and master ART. Julian is a full body certi-fied Active Release Techniques provider, along with training and certifications in numerous other modali-ties - NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), Anatomy in Mo-tion, and Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR). These advanced techniques and background in engineering provide him a unique ability to find the root cause of pain and dysfunction.

He is certified and trained in Neurokinetic Therapy, Level 2 FMS (Functional Movement Screen), and certified full body in Active Release Techniques. Jerimiah's strength training background has given him an eye for spotting dys-function and compensation during movement. Origi-nal Strength provides him with the tools to implement motor pattern resets and increase his client’s mobility and stability. ART & NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) give him the ability to make rapid change and eliminate pain. This trifecta of manual therapy, strength train-ing, and motor pattern resets makes Jerimiah a formi-dable addition to the Airport Club's Pain and Perfor-mance Clinic.
