Module 1 – Android System Wireless Setup:

From the home screen go into settings> wireless settings.

Make wireless is set to on, then connect to your wireless network. Date & Time:

From the home screen go into settings>date & time Start Up & Shut Down:

From the home screen go into settings>start -p & shut down to set when the screen turns on and off Clevernote:

Press the arrow on either the LH or RH side of the screen to access the android menu system. Note: Once you select an option from the menu you can use the floating menu to take you back to the home screen, this floating menu can be moved around the screen.

Select Clevernote from the home screen, select the pen icon, move the slider to change pen width and select different colors from the palette.

Erase the content by using the back of your hand or selecting the eraser icon and drawing around the item to be deleted.

The entire screen can be erased by selecting the brush icon from the menu.

Add a new page by clicking on the + symbol in the bottom right of the screen, selecting the number will give the thumbnails of the pages on the right hand side of the screen.

If you have erased something before you have saved select the undo icon.

Explore the different shapes you can add to the screen, select the arrow symbol to create flow diagrams etc.

To save your document select the icon in the bottom left of the screen, you can now choose save to USB or save to the internal storage. From this menu you can also change the background color or send your notes out as an email.

Note: If you choose to save to the internal storage the file is saved as an .ENB extension (Evernote), this enables you to go back and work on your document at a later date.

When saving a file, you are prompted for a name for the file and the on-screen keyboard appears, this will then save to the screen.

Files:

Select files from the home screen, any pages that you have saved will appear in the notes section at the top of the screen. Double tapping the icon will display the saved file.

Insert a USB into one of the android slots at the front of the screen, the contents of the USB will be displayed when you select the USB device.

Select an image from the USB device by double tapping, place two fingers on the screen to show the widget, select pen and annotate over the picture.

Tip: Toggling the pen icon will display 4 different pen colors, you can also return home, return to clevernote or freeze the screen with this widget.

Select an office document from either the USB device or the internal storage, when the complete action dialog box shows on the screen, select either one of the built in apps to display the office document.

To copy from android to USB or vice versa, simply tap the box containing the tick the bottom of the screen, check the tick box next to the file or files you want to copy and press the scissors icon copy, selecting paste from the menu will complete the action.

Selecting the icon next to the select icon will create a new folder. Active

Browser:

Select browser to navigate to any web site, press 2 fingers onto the screen to display the widget and select pen to annotate. Annotations can be saved as a screenshot by selecting the camera icon from the widget.

Cleverstore:

Select the Cleverstore icon from the home screen to access the cleverstore where you can download free apps to use on the screen.

Select the app that you would like to download, select free from the top of the screen, select install from the bottom of the screen, press open to activate the program, the app will now appear in the apps on the home screen.

Apps:

To access downloaded apps, press the apps button on the home screen, browse your downloaded apps and select the appropriate app. The app will be loaded and available for use. To permanently close app, select active from the home screen, swipe the apps you wish to close upwards, this will close the app.

Selecting the camera icon will display the webcam once you have connected this to the system.

Gallery will show all recent screen shots which you can run as a slide show. Note: There are 2 apps that enable use of Ipads and smart phones, these are explained below

Eshare server allows a user to send files, photos and videos from the Ipad, smartphone, select eshare from the available apps, follow the instructions on the screen to download the app.

Launch eshare from the device, once the device has found the screen, files and photos etc. can be sent to the screen

Iplay allows the mirroring of a device to the screen, replacing things like Apple TV.

Launch Iplay from the available apps, swipe up from the bottom of the device, select mirroring to transfer the iPad screen to the clevertouch screen.

Note: The devices need to reside on the same wireless network

Explore the Es file share app, here you can see news, weather, files stored on the internal storage.

Scroll down and select cloud, select New from the bottom of the screen, here you can select gdrive and view your documents from google drive.

Tip: If you move icons on top of each other you can create directories, the screen can also be locked by using the screen lock facility on the home menu.

On completion of this module you will be capable of adding the screen to the network, using clevernote for basic note taking, saving notes, displaying files from USB, copying files between android and USB. Using the browser to gain access to the network, annotate over any documents, download apps from cleverstore and demonstrate the basic apps that are available.

Module 2 – Cleverlynx Basic Functions When opening Lynx for the first time you are presented with the new lesson manager screen, from this screen you can create a new file, open an existing file and open notebook files and other files such as PowerPoint etc. Tip: Lynx 5 allows you to open multiple lessons, select file, new lesson book to use this feature. Add new pages by selecting the new page icon. Press your finger on the screen for 3 seconds to activate the right click function, select background paper type, select handwriting, Note: Explore the different paper types. Select a pen from the menu, select the tools menu from the left side bar, the following menu appears. Note: Selecting icons such as erase, shapes and fill tool will bring the same type of menu as shown below, where you can set eraser width, select fill etc. Please refer to the icon guide for additional help, as described below. Tip: Navigate to the help menu, select generate icon guide.

Explore the different pen types, select the shape recognition pen, draw a circle, square and triangle, explore the different formulas that can be recognized using this pen, and for example write the following on the screen.

2 x 2 =, click on the box to reveal the answer. Note: Toggling the + button above will toggle the pen type from drawing pen to writing pen, these were available on the drop-down menu in previous versions.

Finally select the rainbow pen from the color palette, notice when you write something each letter will be a different color, demonstrate the ten touch feature by placing all ten fingers on the screen whilst using the rainbow pen.

Insert an image by selecting the insert image icon, select the image, and click on open to insert the image onto the canvass, resize the image by using gestures so the image fills the canvass.

Explore the different presentation tools by selecting tools, spotlight and curtain, explain how these could be used in the classroom.

Select split screen mode from delivery options pull down menu, invite 2 participants to the screen to write with a different pen on each side of the screen, when saved it will save as one page.

Select view from the top menu and select dual slide view, you can then select pin left or right to pin the page particularly useful when using an index or a set of instructions as this will stay on the screen as you step through the other slides.

Select the zoom feature to zoom in and out of the selected page

Demonstrate the crop and the freehand crop tools available when you select the fill icon from the menu.

Demonstrate and discuss the different options to save your file by using the save as feature. When using the save as option explain the different file options, save to other formats if the recipient does not have Lynx installed, for example PDF, PPT or Common file format (IWB)

Note: If you are addressing people that have been using Smart Notebook, demonstrate opening Notebook files within Lynx. Pay particular attention to the fact that old smart notebook files will be a 4:3 ratio, some zooming and reformatting may be necessary.

Show side bar feature and explain how to put Lynx into full screen mode.

Select explore from the side menus, explore the different subjects, backgrounds and demonstrate moving objects from here to the canvass, right click on the object, demonstrate the features such as replicate when you deliver the lesson, these can be found in delivery options.

Select web search from the side menu, drag images onto the canvass from Google images. Note: Version 5 of lynx now supports embedded videos, navigate to a you tube URL, copy the URL, select file>insert video, when the dialog box opens, select the world icon and paste the URL into the URL box at the bottom of the dialog box. The video will now appear on the canvass. The dialog box also enables you to video and sound files. On completion of this module you will be able to navigate through the menu system and the side bars, select different pen types, select different backgrounds, import images, use the presentation tools, use images from the clip art and bring images in from the internet. Maths Tools

Select the maths tools icon to access the following tools, ruler, protractor, compass, angle and dice. Ruler

Select the maths tools icon and select ruler, once on the screen, select the ruler, use the green button to rotate. Move the blue slider to draw a line to the desired length, select the stamp to insert the line onto the page.

Protractor

Select the maths tools icon and select protractor, once on the screen, select protractor, use the green button to rotate, move the sliders to create the angle and select stamp to insert the angle on to the page.

Compass

Select the maths tools icon and select compass, select appropriate options from the right hand side, select + icon to place the compass onto the screen. Drag from the top of the compass to move, select pink circle to change the radius and drag from the pen to draw the circle.

Angle

Select the maths tool icon and select angle, once on the screen select different color circles to change the angle.

Dice

Select the maths tool icon and select dice, once on the screen select either the – or + to change the amount of dice, select the table or the dice to throw the dice.

Select the clock icon, activate the right-click feature and explore the different clock types, clock style will show school or digital. Click on Clock mode to switch between countdown and stopwatch.

At the bottom of the clock toggle between the number and text icons to display in different formats.

Select the clock icon, select calendar to place a calendar onto the screen. NOTES:

Module 3 – Cleverlynx Intermediate Session Note – You must have completed module 1 before starting module 2

Discuss and explore the remote tool by breaking out to the desktop, opening an office

Document, selecting the pen tool from the floating menu, selecting static pen and annotating over the document.

Note: You will notice that when you go back into Lynx (Selecting the man and his laptop icon) the page has been saved along with any annotations

Select the remote icon and select the camera from the floating menu, select one of the three options, full screen, rectangular or freehand draw to take a snapshot and add this into Lynx.

Drag an object in from the clip art, right click on the object and explore the different options under delivery mode options, firstly select the replicate option.

Note: When you deliver the lesson, every time you move the object it will replicate, this exercise is useful for any repeating objects, for example money, musical notes and various shapes.

Right click the object and practice copying cloning the object, explore the different options on the transform menu.

Drag a shape onto the page, fill it with a color, drag another object in front the clipart, click on the new object, select arrange and select send to back.

You will notice that if you drag this new object to the shape it will go behind the shape. Note: If you make the shape editable on delivery, select the eraser it will rub the shape out and display what is behind the shape.

Select the shape or any other object, select link and explore the different options, clicking on link enables you to link the object to a web site, file on disk will open any file on the computer, for example a word or excel file. Lesson book slide enables you to link the object to another page in the file, for example an answer slide.

Table Wizard

Use the table wizard to create tables, sentences, number square and multiplication table. Table

Insert a table by selecting the table icon, drag your mouse over the grid to insert the required amount of columns and rows. Check or uncheck the box to enable content editable on delivery and select the + icon to create the table. Drag images or text into the cells where you will notice that these will be resized to fit into the cells. Select the table, select the square in the right-hand corner and select edit mode, selecting the colored diamonds will enable you to resize rows and columns.

Left-click the table and select the square at the top-right of the table, select edit table, the following menu appears.

Sentence Table

Insert sentences by selecting the table icon, select sentence table from the available options. Check or uncheck the box to enable the revealer, select the + icon to create the table.

Type the desired sentence into the box below the box including the word type. Note: If the revealer is selected the words in the sentence are uncovered, if revealer is not enabled, words can be moved around to make sentences. Number Square

Insert the number square by selecting the table icon, select number square from the available options, check revealer option to reveal numbers, check highlight primes to highlight prime numbers.

Multiplication Table

Insert the multiplication table by selecting the table icon, select multiplication table from the available options, check revealer if required.

On completion of this module you will be able to use the remote icon to enter the desktop, open and annotate over office documents, explore the different delivery options, apply hyperlinks to objects and send objects to different layers and insert a table.

Module 4 Clevermaths Demonstrate how to add new pages, select pages and explore the different pen types from the pen menu.

Drag a shape onto the canvass by clicking on the shapes icon, add more shapes to the page and select the cruise icon, demonstrate how you can move things on an unbound workspace, clicking on the roaming map icon will identify where the work is situated on the page.

Demonstrate the magnify options from the menu, select the text edit icon and add text to the page by using the on screen keyboard, practice character recognition from the same menu.

Select an object on the page select the icon with the 3 lines to activate the right click function, explore and demonstrate the different options paying particular attention to adding to resource bank and edit hyperlink.

Note: Edit hyperlink will give the same features as Lynx by allowing links to websites, files and pages within the file.

Enter the toolbox, explore and demonstrate the different background themes, select disciplines, experiment with the different maths tools by adding the compass and drawing a circle, add the ruler and draw a line, finally add the protractor, draw an angle and discuss how you could use the protractor to measure angles.

Select the formula recognition icon and demonstrate this feature.

Select the mini tools icon and demonstrate all the available tools, use the recorder function to record how to write a formula and recognize the formula.

Use the board in board feature to make notes then pull up to the top of the screen. Note: The notes will be saved on the board in board when the clevermaths file is saved. Select disciplines, select chemistry and insert a test tube and beaker onto the page, demonstrate how to tip the liquid from one to the other by using the rotation feature.

On completion of this module you will be able to navigate through the menu system, use the unbound work space, add shapes to the canvass add to the resource bank, use the full range of interactive tools.

Module 5 Displaynote

1. Download Displaynote App from App store (android or iOS)

2. Download Displaynote to laptop from Clevertouch.co.uk and set up an account

3. Launch software on laptop by double click

4. Click on SHARE MY DESKTOP

5. Get participants to scan QR code or enter meeting ID. (NOTE MUST ALL BE ON SAME WIFI)

6. Tap panel (as presenter) to activate panel All users will have Presenter view

Once the participants have access to the presenter’s screen, Presenter can now open any program on the screen, to assist with self-paced earning students can select a pen from the menu on the left-hand side and make their own notes on the subject and save them back to their device by selecting the icon at the top-right of the screen.

Open the session manager by selecting the people icon on the top toolbar, the information to the left indicates people logged in and the session ID.

Traffic Light System

Green – Logged In

Yellow – Recent Activity

Red – Not Logged In

The icons from left to right in the session manager:

Share Microphone

Invite participants to share their work with the other students by selecting the share button from the session manager.

Note: Displaynote can show up to 16 devices on the main screen

Select the pen and people icon from the session manager to put selected participants into collaboration mode, ask people to annotate on their device.

Note: When a participant annotates, the presenter can see the content in real time and visa versa, annotations can be saved on the participant’s device or on the presenter’s screen.

Get a participant to take a picture with their device by selecting the camera button on left- hand menu on their device, once the picture has been taken, select use photo to transmit to the presenter’s screen.

Once participants have joined the session the presenter can send a message by selecting the message button.

Note: Make sure that a participant is selected from the session manager.

When the participant replies to the message the presenter will see a speech bubble next to the name, once the speech bubble is selected the presenter can read and respond to the message.

Ask participant to press reply, Presenter will see a speech bubble against user name.

Tap speech bubble to read message

After completion of this module you will be able to share your desktop with the students, demonstrate how the students can make their own notes and save to their device, pause screen share work and collaborate with the students.

Click on the snowflake icon either in top right or bottom left of screen, select the zones icon and split the screen into 2 zones, show and demonstrate the piano in one zone and drums in the other zone.

Show the following activities, jigsaw, match it, habitat, animals, clock and maths bugs

Click on the snowflake icon either in top right or bottom left of screen, select the zones icon and split the screen into 2 zones

Show the following activities, geography, organs and bones

Navigate to the lessons icon found in the tools section of the main menu

Demonstrate how existing lessons are edited by selecting either the cog or the play button, explain how users can join the multiteach lessons community to import activities or export to the community.

Create new lesson by selecting lessons, create new lesson, select lesson type from the available templates, and name the lesson.

Tip: When naming the lesson, include the lesson type after the name.

Tap on create content to add the content to your lesson, on the right hand side of the screen, select the theme or browse to set up another theme from google images, select timer if required, change fonts and color.
