Activities carried out for the academic year 2016 – 2017

1. CENTRE OF LEARNING TECHNOLOGY

The Centre for Learning Technology (CLT) promotes, develops and supports the use of learning

technology platforms for teaching and learning at Kalasalingam University through organizing

faculty development programs, training programs, seminars, conferences, refresher courses and

series of lectures on relevant and up-coming technologies for the benefit of the faculty members.

Competent and eminent professionals from different parts of our country and also from various

countries in the specialized fields are invited to address and share their wealth of knowledge to

our faculty members. The faculty members would pick up the ideas from the expert, sharing of

knowledge and make use of the possibility of new dimensions of success in their concerned field

of study in terms of teaching and research.

(a) Events organized for Teaching Faculties:

1. A one day Faculty Orientation Program has been conducted with a title “Introduction

about academic System- CGPA & Choice based credit system” has been arranged on 7th

June, 2016.Dr.D.Devaraj, Dean (Academic), KLU, was delivered lecture on the topic.

The program had been attended by 48 faculties from KLU.

2. A one day Faculty Orientation Program has been conducted with a title “Outcome Based

Education & blooms taxonomy” on 8th June, 2016. Dr.R.Ramalakshmi, Director, TIFAC-

CORE, Kalasalingam University, was delivered lecture on the topic. The program had

been attended by 45 faculties from KLU.

3. A one day Faculty Orientation Program has been conducted with a title “Outcome

Assessment Procedure implemented in KLU Software” was arranged on 9th June, 2016.

Dr. M. Palikonda Rajasekaran, Controller of Examinations, Kalasalingam University

delivered lecture on the topic. The program had been attended by 18 faculties from KLU.

4. A one day Faculty Orientation Program has been conducted with a title “Teaching

Methodology and Time Management” on 10th June, 2016 for the newly recruited

Teaching faculty of KLU. Dr. A.R.Anandha Krishnaveni, Principal, Arulmigu

Kalasalingam College of Education, was delivered lecture on the topic. The program had

been attended by 41 faculties from KLU.

5. Two days workshop has been conducted from 27th June, 2016 and 28th June, 2016 to

explain about “Introduction to Academic Performance Index (API), Non CGPA and

Student Welfare” for the newly recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University.

The resource persons Dr.C.Sivapragasam, Dean (IQAC), KLU and Dr.P.Venkumar, Dean

(Student Affairs),KLU were handled the sessions. The program had been attended by 48

faculties from KLU.

6. One day workshop has been conducted with the title “Blended learning & Flipped Class

room” for faculty members of Kalasalingam University on 16th July, 2016. The resource

persons Dr.P.Deepalakshmi, HOD/CSE, KLU, Dr.R.Ramalakshmi, Director, TIFAC-

CORE, KLU were handled the sessions. The program had been attended by 61 faculties

from KLU.

7. One day workshop has been conducted with the title “Blended learning & Flipped Class

room” on 19th July, 2016 for the faculty members of Kalasalingam University. The

resource persons Mr.D.Ganesa Perumal, Assistant Professor, EEE, KLU,

Mr.M.Thilagaraj, Assistant Professor, EIE, KLU, Mrs.P.Sivaranjana, Assistant

Professor,Chemistry,KLU and Ms.B.Aruna Devi,TA,ECE,KLU were handled the

sessions. The program had been attended by 12 faculties from KLU.

8. One day workshop has been conducted with the title “Flipped Class room” on 30th July,

2016 for faculty members of Kalasalingam University. The resource persons Dr.Muruga

Poobathy, Associate Professor/CSE,KLU, Dr.velayuthan pillai, Assistant Professor,

Chemistry, KLU and Dr.Karuppasamy pandiyan, Assistant Professor,EEE,KLU were

handled the sessions. The program had been attended by 20 faculties from KLU.

9. A one day Faculty Induction training program has been conducted with the title

“Outcome Based Education & blooms taxonomy” on 1st August, 2016 for the newly

recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. Dr.R.Ramalakshmi, Director,

TIFAC-CORE, Kalasalingam University, was delivered lecture on the topic. The

program had been attended by 5 faculties from KLU.

10. A one day Faculty Induction training program has been conducted with the title

“Introduction about academic System, CGPA & Choice based credit system” for the

newly recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University on 2nd August, 2016.The

resource person Dr.D.Devaraj Dean (Academic) KLU explained about the academic

system to the newly recruited faculty of Kalasalingam University. The program had been

attended by 4 faculties from KLU.

11. A one day Faculty Induction training program has been conducted with the title

August, 2016 for the newly recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The

resource person Mr.K.Jeyaprakash AP/EC, Kalasalingam University explained about the

procedure. The program had been attended by 21 faculties from KLU.

12. A one day Faculty Induction training program has been conducted with the title

“Introduction to Academic Performance Index (API)” on 4th August, 2016 for the newly

recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University . The resource person

Dr.V.Arumuga prabhu, Dy.Dean(IQAC), Kalasalingam University, explained about API.

The program had been attended by 21 faculties from KLU.

13. A one day Faculty Induction training program has been conducted with the title “Non

CGPA and Student Welfare” on 8th August, 2016 for the newly recruited Teaching

Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The resource persons Dr.P.Venkumar, Dean

(Student Affairs), Kalasalingam University, explained about the topic. The program had

been attended by 3 faculties from KLU.

14. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title “Presentation

Skills” on 09th August, 2016 for the faculty members of Kalasalingam University. The

resource person Dr.S.Robert Gnanamony , Prof.&Head/English, Kalasalingam University

handled the session. The program had been attended by 114 faculties from KLU.

15. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title “Classroom

Management” on 10th August, 2016 for the faculty members of Kalasalingam University .

The resource person Dr.J.T.Winowlin Jappes, Prof.&Head/Mech., Kalasalingam

University handled the session. The program had been attended by 62 faculties from

Kalasalingam University.

16. A one day Faculty training program with the title “Skill Training on Student Motivation”

was arranged on 11th August, 2016 for the faculty members of Kalasalingam University.

The resource person Dr.I.Siva, Associate Professor/Mech, Kalasalingam University

handled the session. The program had been attended by 57 faculties from KLU.

17. A series of workshops were conducted with a title “Effective faculty advisory system”

from 16th August, 2016 to 19th August,2016 for giving effective training to the faculty

advisors of Kalasalingam University. The resource persons Dr.P.Venkumar, Dean,

(StudentAffairs),KLU, Dr.C.SivaPrakasam, Dean(IQAC), Kalasalingam University,

Kalasalingam University were handled the various sessions during the above said days.

The series of program were attended by 192 faculties from KLU.

18. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title from “Outcome

Based Education & blooms taxonomy” on 16th August, 2016 for the newly recruited

Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The resource person Dr.K.Palani

Chelvam, HOD/Biotech, Kalasalingam University, was delivered lecture during the

session. The program had been attended by 28 faculties from KLU.

19. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title “Outcome

Assessment Procedure implemented in Kalasalingam University Software” from 17th

August, 2016 for the newly recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The

resource person Dr.M.Pallikonda Rajasekaran, COE, Kalasalingam University, was

delivered lecture during the session. The program had been attended by 25 faculties from

Kalasalingam University.

20. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title “Introduction about

academic System CGPA & Choice based credit system” on 18th August, 2016 for the

newly recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The resource person

Dr.D.Devaraj, Dean (Academic), KLU, was delivered lecture during the session. The

program had been attended by 28 faculties from KLU.

21. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title “Introduction to

Academic Performance Index (API)” from 19th August, 2016 for the newly recruited

Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The resource person Dr.C.SivaPrakasam,

Dean (IQAC), KLU, was delivered lecture during the session. The program had been

attended by 23 faculties from KLU.

22. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with the title “Non CGPA and

Student Welfare” from 20th August, 2016 for the newly recruited Teaching Faculty of

Kalasalingam University. The resource person Dr.P.Venkumar, Dean (Student Affairs),

KLU handled the session. The program had been attended by 13 faculties from KLU.

23. One day workshop has been conducted with the title" Faculty Effective Advisory

System” on 3rd September, 2016 for giving effective training to the faculty advisors of

24. National Level Faculty Development Program on “Advanced Research Skills” has been

conducted by Department of Business Administration & Centre for Learning Technology

for faculty members and research scholars during 21st & 22nd October, 2016.

Dr.V.Sampath, Controller of Examinations, Yadava College, Madurai, Dr.D.Devaraj,

Dean, Academics, KLU, Prof.S.Kundhavai, Head of the Department, Department of

Management Studies, KLU and Dr.S.Rajaram, Associate Professor and Dr.M.Selvarani,

Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies were delivered special lectures

during the program. The program has been coordinated by Dr.S.Rajaram, Associate

Professor and Dr.S.B.Inayath Ahamed, Assistant Professor/ MBA.

25. FDP with a title “Advanced Teaching and Learning Methodologies” has been

organized by Centre for Learning Technologies and Department of Business

administration from 16.11.2016 to 18.11.2016 and which has been inaugurated by

Dr.Sreekumar, Dean, General administration and Dr. Basil Gnanappa, Director,CLT,

Kalasalingam university. It consists of Six Sessions engaged by Internal Resource

persons Dr. Robert Gnanamony, Professor / English, Dr.S.Rajaram, Associate Professor /

MBA. Dr.J.T.Winowlin Jappes, Professor & Head / Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Durai,

Assistant Professor / MBA, Dr. Sakthivel Rani, Director, SHIP, Dr.T. Deiva Shanthi,

Associate Professor / Physics, Kalasalingam University and Prof.S.Kundhavai, Head of

the Department, Department of Management Studies, KLU. The program has been

coordinated by Dr.P.Baskaran. and Dr.S.B.Inayath Ahamed, Assistant Professor,

Department of Business Administration.

26. FDP with a title “Engineering Physics-2” has been organized by Department of Physics

and Centre for Learning Technology from 05/12/2016 to 09/12/2016. The resource

persons Dr.Sreekumar, Dean, (General administration), Dr.S.Asath Bahadur, Dean

(Student Affairs) Dr.K.Viswanathan,Professor,Dr.M.Muthuvinayagom,HOD/Physics,

Dr.N.Nallamuthu, Assistant Professor,Dr.P.Selvarangan, Assistant Professor, Dr.T. Deiva

Shanthi, Associate Professor and Dr.S.Jeyavijayan, Associate Professor/Physics,

Kalasalingam University were handled the sessions.

27. Faculty development program has been conducted with a title “Control system and its

applications using MATLAB” during 5th, 9th and 12th December, 2016 by Department

of ECE and Centre for Learning Technology. The resource persons are

Dr.Sankaranarayanan, Associate Professor,NIT,Trichy, Dr.R.V.Maheswari, Associate

Professor,NEC, Kovilpatti, Dr.Chandrasekaran, Associate Professor, PSNA Engineering

college, Dindugal, Mr.R.Pandian, Academician, Alpha beta Solution, Madurai. The

program has been coordinated by Ms.A.Lakshmi, Assistant Professor-II, Electronics and

communication engineering department, Kalasalingam University.

28. Faculty development program has been conducted during 5th December, 2016 by

Department of Computer science and engineering and Centre for Learning Technology

with a title “Machine Learning Techniques”. Dr. D. Devaraj, Dean, Academics,

Kalasalingam University and Mrs. Agnes Idhayaselvi, Assistant Professor, Department of

Electrical and electronics engineering, Kalasalingam University were delivered special

lectures during the program. The program has been coordinated by Mrs. R. Ramalakshmi,

Associate Professor/CSE, Mr. M. Raja, Assistant Professor/CSE and Mr. R. Muniasamy,

Assistant Professor /CSE, Kalasalingam University.

29. Faculty development program has been conducted during 28/11/2016 to 03/12/2016 by

Department of Mechanical engineering and Centre for Learning Technology with a title

“Engineering Mechanics”. Dr. M. Sivasubramanian, HOD, Dept. of Automobile

Engineering, Dr. N. Rajini, Associate Professor, Dr. S. Senthilkumar, Associate Professor

Mr. R. Maheshkumar, Assistant Professor and Mr. K. Maclin John Vasanth, Assistant

Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering were delivered special lectures during

the program. The program has been coordinated by Dr. I. Siva, Associate

Professor/Mechanical.

30. Faculty development program has been conducted during 28/11/2016 to 02/12/2016 by

Department of Civil engineering and Centre for Learning Technology with a title

“Strength of materials”. Dr. C.Ramesh Babu, Associate Professor, and Mr.N.Suresh

Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering were delivered special

lectures during the program. The program has been coordinated by Dr.C.Ramesh Babu,

Associate Professor/Civil.

31. A one day workshop has been conducted with a title “Art of Counseling” on

1st February, 2017. Dr. M. Muthukannan, Professor and Head of Civil Engineering,

Kalasalingam University has explained about the counseling with several examples. The

program has been attended by more than 25 faculty of our University. The program has

been coordinated by Mr. A. Chithambar Ganesh Assistant Professor/Civil.

32. Mentor - Mentee Program:

Centre for Learning Technology has initiated to prepare Mentor-Mentee

Handbook and list of Mentors and Mentees from the faculty of Kalasalingam University

as per the direction of Dr. S. Shasi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University and the

decision of Staff Council, Kalasalingam University by referring the mentoring system

implemented in some of the International Universities from USA and other countries.

The handbook and mentor mentee list were prepared and circulated for getting

suggestions from the higher officials, Deans, Directors of various centers, heads of

departments and senior faculty and the suggestions given by them were implemented and

updated. Then these were presented in the staff council and council approved the same

with little modifications for implementation. Finally the handbook and the mentor-

mentee list were released by Dr. S. Shasi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University

on 1st February, 2017 in the presence of Dr. S. Saravana Shankar, Vice Chancellor,

Dr. V. Vasudevan, Registrar, Deans, Directors, Assistant Registrar, Heads of various

departments during the staff council meeting. Dr. S. Shasi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam

University and the staff council appreciated the hard working efforts and sincere

involvement of Dr. S. Basil Gnanappa, Director, Centre for Learning Technology, Dr. B.

Kannapiran, Deputy Director, Centre for Learning Technology and other CLT team

members for implementing the program in our University in an effective manner on par

with the international standards.

Staff council meeting during the release of mentor-mentee handbook

33. A series of workshops were conducted with a title “Outcome Assessment Procedure

implemented in KLU for the Question paper preparation” during 06/03/2017 and

07/03/2017 for the Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The resource person

Mr.K.Jeyaprakash AP/ECE explained about the procedure. The program has been

coordinated by Dr.P.Baskaran. Assistant Professor / MBA.

34. A one day workshop has been conducted with a title “Advanced Teaching

Methodologies” on 10th March, 2017.

The resource persons were Dr.Jeya Singh, Former Vice principal, American

College, Madurai and Dr. Edriana Jeya singh, Former Professor, Lady Doak College,

Madurai. The program has been inaugurated by our Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Saravana

Shankar in the presence of Deans and Directors of our university. The program has been

attended by 19 participants from AKIT, 13 participants from AKCAS, 2 Participants

from AKPE and 13 participants from KLU. The program has been coordinated by

Dr.P.Baskaran. Assistant Professor / MBA.

35. Faculty development program has been conducted during 17/03/2017 to 18/03/2017 by

Department of Computer Applications and Centre for Learning Technology with a title

“Recent Research Issues in Bio-Informatics and Bio-Sensors”. The resource persons

were Dr. D. Christopher Durairaj, Associate Professor Associate Professor, VHNSN

College, Dr.C.Karunakaran, Associate Professor, VHNSN College, Virudhunagar; Dr.

Venkataraman Dharuman, Deputy Director, Department of Bio electronics and

Biosensors, Alagappa university, Karaikudy, Dr.K.Vairamani, Assistant Professor, St.

Joseph College, Trichy; Dr.P.Selvam & Dr.P.Lakshmi Narayanan, Research faculty and

Dr.B.Perumal, Assistant Professor, Kalasalingam University delivered lecture on various

topics. Dr. D.Amutha Guka, HOD, Mr.Katheeswaran, Asst. Professor and

Dr.S.Ramkumar, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Applications has coordinated

the program.

36. The Department of Business Administration and Centre for Learning Technology,

Kalasalingam University jointly organized Third International Conference on

“InnovativeTrends in Technology and Management”, ICITM-2017 during 30th & 31st,

March,2017.

The theme of the conference focused on coverage of major disciplines like Engineering,

Management, Commerce and Humanities. The Conference was presided over by

Dr.S.Shasi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University and inaugurated the program in

the presence of Dr.V.Vasudevan-Registrar, Dr.Pallikonda Rajasekaran, Controller of

Examinations, Kalasalingam University, Prof.Sanjana Brijball Parasumar from School of

Management, IT and Governance, College of Law and Management Studies, University

of KwaZulu-Natal(Westville Campus), Durban, Prof.Renuka Herath, University of

Kelaniya, Srilanka Dr.S.Basil Gnanappa, Director, CLT and other diginitories.

Prof.Renuka Herath, University of Kelaniya, Srilanka delivered the Keynote

address during the forenoon session of the first day of the conference. As a prelude to the

Conference, an MOU was signed by Dr.Renuka Herath, University of Kelaniya, Srilanka

and Dr.S.Shashi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University to strengthen, promote and

develop academic and non-academic co-operation between the parties on the basis of

mutual benefits.

More than 75 delegates from various Institutions presented their research papers in

Engineering and Management domains. Book of Abstracts containing the Abstract of

Research papers was released during the Conference. Dr.K.Sundar, Director,

International Research Centre, Kalasalingam University delivered the Valedictory

address. Prof.S.Kundhavai, HoD, Department of Business Administration and

Dr.S.Rajaram, Associate Professor & Dr.S.B.Inayath Ahamed of Business

Administration, Kalasalingam University and other faculty members were also present.

Exchange of MOU between Dr.S.Shashi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University and

Dr.Renuka Herath, University of Kelaniya, Srilanka.

37. The Department of English Organized 3 Days FDP from 08 May 2017 to 10 May 2017 at

Dr. Arumugam n-card Math Seminar Hall for the UG students department of English. On

08/05/2017, Mrs.Sridevi, JCI Trainer given lecture on Effective Public Speaking during

morning session and during the afternoon session, Mr. Ashok Kumar, JCI Trainer

delivered lecture on Personality Development. Dr. Vivekaanandha Head/Department of

English, Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology, Viruthunagar presided over

the function on 09/05/2017 and gave an inspirational lecture on Universal Appeal of

Shakespeare during morning session. The afternoon Session was chaired by Dr. A. Maria

Sebastian, Asst. Prof of Tamil VIT University, Vellore. He enlightened the students on

Creative Writing (Padaipizhakiyam).On the third day, Dr. A. ArputhaPragasam Prof.&

Head/ Dept. of English -St.Michael Engineering and Technology, Sivagangai spoke on

Phonetics & Spoken English. Totally 87 students registered and attended the guest

lecture. They offered an active participation on all these three days which stirred them to

38. Centre for Learning Technology and Department of Chemical Engineering &

Biotechnology, Kalasalingam University jointly organized Faculty Development Program

during 08 - 14 May, 2017.The program was inaugurated by Dr.S.Arumugam, Dean

(R&D) Kalasalingam University on 08th May, 2017 and special lectures were given by

Dr. R. Saravanathamizhan, Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering, A.C.Tech., Anna

University, Chennai, Dr. K. Palanichelvam, Head, Dept. of Biotechnology, Kalasalingam

University and Mrs. V.Arunajanani, Head, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, Kalasalingam

University. On 09th May, 2017, Dr. G. Arthanareeswaran, Associate Professor, Chemical

Engineering, National Institute of technology Tiruchirappalli delivered lecture on the

topic. On 11 May 2017, Dr. C. N. Pratheeba, Assistant Professor, Chemical Engineering,

A.C.Tech., Anna University, Chennai delivered lecture on the topic. Industrial Visit was

arranged on 12 May 2017 and the participants visited Dharani Sugars, Vasudevanallur.

On 13th May, 2017, Dr. S. Renganathan, Professor, Biotechnology, A.C.Tech., Anna

University, Chennai delivered lecture on the topic. The Valedictory Function was held on

14th May, 2017 and valedictory address was given by Dr. K.Sundar, Director,

International Research Centre, Kalasalingam University in the presence of Dr. S.

Renganathan, Professor, Biotechnology, A.C.Tech., Anna University, Chennai, Dr. K.

Palanichelvam, Head, Biotechnology, Kalasalingam University and Mrs. V.Arunajanani,

Head, Chemical Engineering, Kalasalingam University.

39. The department of Computer Science and Engineering was organized 6-Days FDP on

“Pragmatic Software Testing-Principles and Practical’s” during 3-4, 10-11, 17-18

June’2017 at Multimedia Lab of Kalasalingam University. The inaugural function was

Presided by Dr.P.Deepalakshmi, HoD/CSE and the program was inaugurated by the

Chief Guest and resource person Mr.Srinivasan Desikan. The resource person

Mr.Srinivasan Desikan handled all sessions. He covered various topics such as Software

Testing , Basic principles , Concepts of Testing- Testing Techniques – Testing Types and

Methodology- Software Automation Tools like Testlink, Selenium, Mantis and Adhoc

Testing. A total of 19 faculties from different institutions have participated and benefited.

The international Certification Exam has conducted on 28-06-2017. All the attended

faculty have secured more than 70% marks and obtained International Certification on

“Software Testing Certification (Instructor Level)”. They planned to implement all the

Testing strategies and methodologies to their class room teaching and also decided to

motivate the students to appear in various International Certification Exam in Software

Testing. They assured to encourage the stakeholders to do more Research on Software

Testing.

40. The Faculty Induction Program was organized during 12-17 June, 2017 and the

program was inaugurated by our honorable Director, Dr.S.Shasi Anand with briefing

about our University and given motivation to the fresh faculty of Kalasalingam

University and KIT. On 13th June, 2017, Dr.S.Saravana Sankar, Vice Chancellor of

Kalasalingam University delivered Introduction about Kalasalingam University and

Dr.V.Vasudevan, Registrar, KLU detailed about the Rules and Regulations of

Kalasalingam University.During the next session on the same day Dr. D.Devaraj, Dean,

Academics explained about Different role of a Faculty at KLU &Introduction to

academic system.

evaluation and Dr.P.Amutha Kannan, Dy.Controller of Examinations explained about

Introduction to Easy, SIS software in KLU during afternoon session.

On 15.06.2017, Dr.M.Muthukannan, HoD/Civil has delivered the lecture on Art

of Counseling during the morning session. In the afternoon session Dr. R.Ramalakshmi,

Director, Tifacore and Dr.P.Sivakumar, HoD/ECE have detailed about outcome based

education. On 16.06.2017, Dr.S.Asath Bahadur, Dean, Student Affairs and Dr.K.Rajesh,

Deputy Dean Student Affairs have explained Faculty Advisory System and

Mr.P.Murugan, Deputy Dean, Student Affairs detailed about Non CGPA during the

morning session. In the afternoon session, Dr.K.Kartheeban, Deputy Dean, Academic,

Dr.A.Muthukumar, Deputy Dean, Academic have delivered a lecture on Effective

Teaching Methodology.On 17.06.2017, Dr. J.T.Winowlin Jappes,HoD/Mech and Dr. I.

Siva, Professor/Mech have explained about the Conduct of laboratory classes followed by

Dr. S. Robert Gnanamony, Professor, English and Mr. R.Radeep Krishna, AP/ECE were

explained about Presentation skills in the morning session. Dr. J.T.Winowlin Jappes,

HoD/Mech and Dr.M.SivaSubramanian, HoD/Auto have made a discussion on Class

room management during the afternoon session.The program had been attended by 83

faculties from KLU.

The program concluded with Certificate distribution function and the

certificates were given by our honorable Director, Dr.S.Shasi Anand in the presence of

the vice chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Directors, Heads of various departments, Resource

persons, program coordinators and participants of various programs.

41. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted with a title Art of counseling and

mentoring on 20th July, 2016 for the Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University and

Kalasalingam Institute of Technology. The resource person Dr.R.ChandraSekar Menon,

Dean, Management Studies and Dr. V.Elango, Professor & Head, Department of

Computer Applications, New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore were delivered

lectures during the sessions. The program had been attended by 53 faculties from KLU

and 20 faculties from KIT.

42. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted on 21st June, 2017 for the newly

recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. Dr.Chandra Sekhar Menon,

Dean, Management Studies explained about mentor-mentee program implemented in

Kalasalingam University and Dr.M.Thiruganasambandam, Director, Consultancy has

delivered the lecture on consultancy activities on the same day. The program had been

attended by 68 faculties from KLU.

43. A one day Faculty training program has been conducted on 22nd June, 2017 to explain

about “IQAC metrics, Annual appraisal system along with case studies” for the

newly recruited Teaching Faculty of Kalasalingam University. The resource persons

Dr.C.Sivapragasam, Dean IQAC, Dr.G.Murugaboopathi, Deputy Dean IQAC,

Dr.S.Hariharasitaraman, Deputy Dean IQAC, and Mr.R.Radheep Krishna,

Asst.Prof/ECE, KLU were handled the sessions. On the same day Dr.S.Arumugam,

Dean R&D detailed about Research and Development activities. The program had been

attended by 83 faculties from KLU.

44. The department of Mechanical Engineering organized 3-days FDP on “Strength of

Materials” during 21st-23rd June, 2017. The resource persons Mr.K.Prabhu, Department

of Mechanical Engineering, Karunya University, Dr.P.Venkumar, Department of

Mechanical Engineering and Mrs.S.Kavitha, Department of Mechanical Engineering,

Kalasalingam University were handled the sessions. And the program was organized by
