My vision for the future is to aim for a world where banking and finance contribute to a sustainable development of people and planet.
The Institute for Social Banking educates, connects and inspires – current and future – social bankers and values based financial institutions and supports research to enable continuous change and innovation in banking and finance. Through Education, Net-work and Research, the Institute for Social Banking promotes awareness, knowledge and competencies in the context of social banking and creates meaningful connections. We see our role as network facilitator, knowledge broker and bridge builder.
I am pleased to present our activities – this brochure is designed to inform you about our offers and to give you a continuous over-view for better planning.

We are an education and research institute
for socially responsible banking and finance.
Since our founding in 2006, we have grown
into an active membership organisation, com-
prising 17 member organisations linked close-
ly to socially responsible banking and finance
and a large international network.
Our Goals are:
Fostering awareness, commit-ment and constructive reflection amongst (social) bankers.

SUMMER SCHOOLS
The International Summer School on Social Banking & Finance, started
in 2006, is the annual international conference on social banking and
alternative finance. About 80 guests from 20 countries from social
banks, alternative financial institutions, NGOs, conventional banks and
other interested people such as students discuss and gain valuable
insights into the roots, characteristics, opportunities and challenges of
this rapidly evolving field, from both practitioners and academics.
METHODS
• Keynote, lectures, workshops, labs, finance fair, showcasing of projects / clients, networking, excursion
• A good mix of academics and experts from the field to pro-vide depth in content
• Reflecting on one’s practice (reflective dialogue)
• Thinking outside the box• Encouragement and guidance
to explore creative resources as practical ways of artful knowing and experiemental learning.

The “Online Summer School on Social Banking” is a series on social banking as well as sustainable and alternative finance. It is an adap-tion of the International Summer School on Social Banking & Sustain-able Finance, where about 80 guests from 20 countries from social and sustainable banks, alternative financial institutions, traditional banks and other interested people such as students will explore insights into the opportunities and challenges, roots and characteristics of this rapidly evolving field. With the online series we are now able to bring the content of the Summer School to your screen! The Online Summer School allow you to study best practices and learn from the experts, without traveling.

EXPERT EXCHANGE LABS
OVERVIEW
• Advanced-level seminar• 2 days• 9-15 participants from different
organisations / countries
The Expert Exchange Lab is a peer to peer learning offer for experts in
specific departments in the member organisations of the Institute for
Social Banking. Each Expert Exchange Lab addresses one specific topic
of interest to the member institutions of the ISB and is co-organised
and co-hosted by one ISB member.
METHODS
In the ISB Experts Exchange Labs, the key experts are the participants. Therefore, the main method will be a facilitated dia-logue and discussions between those experts, in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. The participants are invited tobring their own questions, to present a case from their own or from a peer organisations and to give a short presentation on how they approach a specific topic in their banks/organisations. Furthermore, there will be insights and impulses from an expert in the field and creative and practical exercises to apply the learnings.
